Project Runway 10-26-15 Final Part 1 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers created a Red Carpet look.

Thoughts in the Workroom: I knew Edmond would get the save!! Edmond really did deserve it. Not coming in prepaired must put on so much pressure. Candice's red and white pants are SO cute! Wait, Ashley what is that stain remover stuff? I need that.

Challenge: The designers will show the judges three looks from their collection for feedback. One of those looks would be created from scratch, in the workroom .

Guest Judge: No one this week.

Home Visits From Tim:

Ashley: Tim visited Ashley's hometown where she revealed her Mexican heritage. Ashley is creating a plus sized collection. I think that it is awesome that she is going for it. There is such a need for quality, fashionable, plus-sized clothing. Ashley's mother supported her vision stating the importance of Ashley's vision. Tim praised Ashley for her innovation with her floral headpieces, however, he warned her that the judges may call them the dreaded M word. It was evident from the pieces she designed that everything looked very Ashely, and that she stuck to her signature pastels.

Edmond: Edmond revealed that he auditioned for Project Runway 13 times!! (WHAT?) Tim advised Edmond against making swimwear. Tim was not impressed by Edmond's black gown because he felt that it was too stiff. He advised him on which direction to go in and stated that Edmond would have to create a look a day to nail this. Edmond took Tim out to eat with his family.

Candice: Candice met Tim on the beach with her mother and her two children. She talked about how her mother suffered from substance abuse in the past, and that they now have a positive relationship. The first piece Candice showed Tim actually was living outside her studio because it did not fit inside it. Candice showed Tim a coat an a neck piece that was made out of wood. She was very confident in her collection, however, Tim warned her that the colors looked cheap and "drag queen".

Kelly: Kelly already had ten looks done when Tim arrived to her home. She used the 1970's and Studio 54 as her inspiration. Kelly showed several patterns that she created herself. She also showed off a few of her handmade fannypacks. Tim thought that Kelly had "a real show", however, he discouraged her from using a mesh that she had incorporated into one of her looks. He called the mesh cheap. Kelly took Tim out to lunch to meet her family. She then brought him to the Deli that she has talked so much about on the show. She even had the Deli make a sandwich named after Tim that will now be sold in the store.

The Runway:

Ashley: Ashley's first look was stunning at first glance. However, she did not have time to finish the bustier, so the model walked in her natural bra. Bra's should not walk down the runway. A BRA in the final runway preview!! This look had had a pink lace crop top with three quarter sleeves and an open back. The skirt was form fitting and a patterned pastel pink. Once she adds the bustier, the look will be fabulous. Ashley's second look was her "new" look. The whole outfit was made from a purple lace. The top was a crop top with a bandeau. On the bottom, she had a bikini style covering with the lace overtop. This skirt was floor length. This look featured an exposed light purple zipper which contrasted the darker purple lace. The third look was a full, knee length, quilted pasted pink, skirt. On the top, Ashely showed a matching pink bustier. Unfortunately, this top did not fit the model perfectly. Each of Ashely's models wore a floral headpiece that brought out the colors of the look. The judges loved the direction that she was going. Nina advised her to only use some headpieces, but Heidi advised her to go with all of them, varying their volume. The judges told Ashely that it was all there, but that she needed to tighten up her construction. My favorite look that Ashley showed was the first look, I think it first look will come out good. My least favorite was the third look.  I would eliminate if I was her. Not because it was bad, but just because it did not fit well and I am sure that she has other looks that fit better.

Edmond: Edmond chose to create a black and white collection. His first look was his "new" look. It was a tight, one shoulder, black mini dress. He added white trimming on the top and a white ruffle down the side with the covered arm. The second look was a girly, white dress with a black bow on the front and black ruffle detailing on the bottom. Edmond's third look was a long sleeve, black, textured mermaid gown. The gown had a black ruffle with a white trimming down the front. The judges felt that the only thing making this collection cohesive was the fact that it was all black and white. Nina told him to bring the sexy back and that she did not understand why the collection was not along the lines of what he has presented thus far on the show. Heidi wanted Edmond to "sex it up". Zac wanted him to delete his all black gown from the collection. My favorite look that Edmond showed was the "new" look. Honestly, I thought that it was elegant in a timeless way. However, I do agree that his collection is not cohesive with what he has done on the show. I applaud him for taking a risk, he just has to make his perspective show through his idea a bit more. My least favorite look was the black gown. I would have liked it a lot more without the ruffle down the center.

Candice: Candice's first look was a strapless, red corset with a red jacket. The jacket featured a peplum in the back and slits on the arms. The pants were a white and red pattern. This pattern also lined the jacket. Her second look was her "new" look. It was a black leather dress with mesh above the breasts, and detailing on the sides. She finished off this look with a hat. Her third look was a sleeveless, black leather crop top with a long, lace jacket. The bottoms were also black. The judges were not fond of this collection. Zac said that she brought it to "costume town" and Nina said that the collection looked like an imitation of Alexander McQueen. Heidi advised her against using the hat. She also told Candice to take out the red look; she felt that this it was too matchy. Heidi thought that this collection was the essence of what people think a runway show should look like, not what a runway show actually is. Personally, I liked the red pants and the lace jacket as individual pieces. I do agree that some of the looks could have been in a musical theatre production. (Not that there is anything wrong with designing clothing for the theatre, but I do not think that was Candice's intention). Like I said, my favorite piece that Candice showed was the red and white pants. My least favorite piece was probably the black corset top because I just did not feel like it added anything to the look.

Kelly: Kelly's fist look was her "new" look. She used one of her collection's signature white and silver patterns to create a form fitting mini dress. She trimmed it with a "wood" fabric and added piping on the side. This look was accented with chunky white shoes, white sun glasses and headphones. The second look was an off the shoulder crop top with a sequin short. The short was trimmed with silver. This model had a brown fannypack. Kelly's third look was a blue sequins tank top with a patterned, flared pant. The bottom of the pant had the "wood" trimming. The judges did not like Kelly's collection. They said that it was boring. They felt that the fabric of the fannypack was not attractive and that her shorts were ill-fitting. Honestly, I did not think that Kelly's collection was that bad. I fell like the judges thought that it was too junior for the final runway. Personally, I like junior, but not everyone does. My favorite piece was actually one that she showed Tim in the home visit...but sticking to what she actually showed the judges...my favorite piece would have to be the blue sequin top. I loved how the back was out of the brown fabric and that it was styled differently. This top could be worn as it for a fancier location, or dressed down with a jean jacket. My least favorite piece her collection was the short. The fabric just looked a bit dance costume to me.

Wow! A lot was covered this week! Comment down below and let me know which final collection was your favorite. And check back next week for the final review of the season!

CEO Is a Woman: Fall Work Outfit Ideas

CEO Is a Woman Fall Work Outfit Ideas Hey Fashionistas! I think many of us can agree that fall is one of the best seasons for fashion. Below are a few fall outfit ideas for a work week. Every office has their own dress code, and getting dress coded at work is something to avoid. All of the below outfits are meant as inspiration and may be altered to fit your personal style and company's preferences.  Monday You can't go wrong supporting your team...especially if your team is the Eagles! Bring a pop of color to the office after a big win with a matching set in your teams colors. This is one of my favorite ways to start off a fall work week.
