Is The Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment Worth the Hype?

Hey Fashionista's! Today we are going to talk all about Hailey Bieber's Rhode Skincare line. This is not sponsored, I just really wanted to talk about these products. This semester in my public speaking class, I taught a unit all about persuasive speaking. My goal was to make the topic of persuasive speaking more relatable by showing how prevalent it is in our modern world. What was the product I brought in to show the power of persuasive speaking in the "influencer era"? You bet it was the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment. If you are a longtime reader, you know I rarely talk about skin care. Actually, I have probably never talked about skin care. That's because I don't really know what to say. I don't ever buy the trendy products because I am allergic to so many of them and if not, they make me break out. BUT Hailey Bieber got me- talk about effective persuasive speaking. I watched a few videos on YouTube of her using the products and talking about their ing

Best Sustainable Brands of 2023

Hey Fashionistas! Recently, I have been trying to make better fashion/beauty choices for the environment so I thought I would share some of my favorites with you. None of this is sponsored (although, if you're one of the brands I mentioned- hi and please feel free to reach out). Garnier: I wanted to start out with Garnier because they are not only an environmentally friendly brand but they are also my favorite beauty brand of all time. Garnier is a holy grail for me. I discovered this brand when they were featured on Project Runway many years ago and they completely changed my confidence. I use so many of their products on my hair: Mouse, Curl Cream, Hair Spray, Hair Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Conditioning Masks, etc.  Recently, I have switched from the traditional shampoo bottle to the shampoo bar and I am so glad that I did. I still get that Garnier glow to my hair while using less unnecessary plastics. Other Garner Fructis shampoo and conditioner bottles are made partly from re

Modeling and Sustainable Fashion

Hey Fashionista's! Just wanted to hop on here and share a few photos from a recent modeling experience I did at Jagged Edge Boutique in New Jersey! Ya'll know I love pink, and this pink dress is still in stock:  https://www.jaggededgeboutique.com/ This sweatshirt is one of a kind...and all mine (sorry!). But you can get one similar at Jagged Edge Boutique. These unique sweatshirts are all individuals and are sustainably made. I love anything that's good for our planet, so I'm always on the hunt for sustainable fashion. The brand is Shapeau.  ~Xoxo~

Back To School Teacher Outfit

Hey Fashionista's, Back to school season is in full swing here in the United States. I wanted to share with you my first day outfit and little bit about what I teach.   What do I specialize in? I specialize in educating students with disabilities. Working with individuals with disabilities is something I am extremely passionate about. More on this in the future.  What am I currently teaching? Public Speaking! I currently teach public speaking in person and online at university.  Why public speaking?  In our increasingly digital world, and especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, the art of effective communication often gets lost. This class is one of the most important in my opinion because it is a skill we all need, regardless of career choice or personal lifestyle. I know it's not every student's favorite class, but I try to make it fun. While I never ask my students to become professional speakers, I hope they come away from class more confident in their speaking abiliti

Where Have I Been? Let's Catch Up.

Hey Fashionistas.  Long time no talk... I know. If you are still here, seriously , thank you. If you are new here (also thank you) and I'lll catch you up to speed.  New? Let's Catch Up:   I began this blog 2012 when I was in High School. High School!  What was my inspiration?   Like most young fashion/beauty creators, I was seeking connection. I had free period/study hall and in 2012, had no friends in my section. I always loved writing and had recently discovered "Beauty Gurus" on social media. I decided to give my hand at connecting to others through fashion/beauty writing. The 2010s were the height of the "Beauty Guru" market on social media.  On this site, I talked about getting dressed for Prom, Favorite Products, etc.  I also did Recap Reviews of the TV show Project Runway because I absolutely loved it. I ended up having my Recap Reviews included on the Blogging the Project Runway site and really enjoyed my experience collaborating with them. During

CEO Is a Woman: Fall Work Outfit Ideas

CEO Is a Woman Fall Work Outfit Ideas Hey Fashionistas! I think many of us can agree that fall is one of the best seasons for fashion. Below are a few fall outfit ideas for a work week. Every office has their own dress code, and getting dress coded at work is something to avoid. All of the below outfits are meant as inspiration and may be altered to fit your personal style and company's preferences.  Monday You can't go wrong supporting your team...especially if your team is the Eagles! Bring a pop of color to the office after a big win with a matching set in your teams colors. This is one of my favorite ways to start off a fall work week. Tuesday  Not ready to give up your summer dresses? Me neither. Pair a darker colored summer dress with sweater and you are ready for a fall day at the office. Add a pair of stockings on a colder day for warmth. Wednesday Big meeting day? You can never go wrong with stripes and a tailored jacket. Add a pair of kne

Best Fit: How to Start Your Fitness Journey

"Best Fit" Let's start our fitness journey! Incorporating fitness into your daily life is difficult. Life is full of wonderful things to do and it can be hard to prioritize being healthy. Today we are going to jump right in and start incorporating fitness into our daily lives.  *Disclaimer: I am neither a fitness expert nor a doctor. I am here to build a community, not give professional advise. Before beginning your fitness journey, check with your medical professionals to make sure you are physically healthy enough to complete any activities suggested. 1. Pick a time of day for your workout: Picking a time of day is a great first step in starting a healthier lifestyle. Putting it on your calendar (maybe even setting up a reminder notice) will help you hold yourself accountable. It will also remind you that you have set aside time that day to go to the gym so you do not double book yourself.  Personally, I prefer to work out in the late afternoon/ea
