Best Fit: How to Start Your Fitness Journey

"Best Fit"

Let's start our fitness journey!

Incorporating fitness into your daily life is difficult. Life is full of wonderful things to do and it can be hard to prioritize being healthy. Today we are going to jump right in and start incorporating fitness into our daily lives.

*Disclaimer: I am neither a fitness expert nor a doctor. I am here to build a community, not give professional advise. Before beginning your fitness journey, check with your medical professionals to make sure you are physically healthy enough to complete any activities suggested.

1. Pick a time of day for your workout:

Picking a time of day is a great first step in starting a healthier lifestyle. Putting it on your calendar (maybe even setting up a reminder notice) will help you hold yourself accountable. It will also remind you that you have set aside time that day to go to the gym so you do not double book yourself.

Personally, I prefer to work out in the late afternoon/early evening "after work" hours. This upcoming week, I have added "Workout" to my schedule Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday (I know, I know the Sunday totally goes against my "after work hours" thing, but I am going to a fitness event).

2. Moderation

"Everything in moderation" is cliche, but true. You don't want to overwhelm yourself from the beginning. I recommend starting with two or three days per week.

Going from being inactive to being very active increases the risk of injury and soreness. We do not want to put our journey on pause due to an injury before we really even get started...and we do not want to get so sore at the beginning that our workouts are not meaningful.

3. Preparation is Success

I recommend asking yourself the following questions in preparation for your workout:

-Are you medically cleared to do what you are planning on doing?
-Where you will workout (which gym, home, etc)?
-What machines you will use?
-What is your cardio/strength split?
-How long you will workout for?
*If you are just starting, I recommend starting with a half hour to and hour and building from there. Again, you do not want to push yourself too hard at the start.
-Will you use the machines or take a class?
*I do not recommend using any equipment you are unfamiliar with without supervision by a fitness professional. Talk to your gym staff to receive instructions on unfamiliar equipment.
-Which area of your body are you focusing on?
-What items do you need to bring with you?

4. Get Up and Go

Are you ready for Fitness Journey Day 1? I sure am! Let's hit the gym!

CEO Is a Woman: Fall Work Outfit Ideas

CEO Is a Woman Fall Work Outfit Ideas Hey Fashionistas! I think many of us can agree that fall is one of the best seasons for fashion. Below are a few fall outfit ideas for a work week. Every office has their own dress code, and getting dress coded at work is something to avoid. All of the below outfits are meant as inspiration and may be altered to fit your personal style and company's preferences.  Monday You can't go wrong supporting your team...especially if your team is the Eagles! Bring a pop of color to the office after a big win with a matching set in your teams colors. This is one of my favorite ways to start off a fall work week. Tuesday  Not ready to give up your summer dresses? Me neither. Pair a darker colored summer dress with sweater and you are ready for a fall day at the office. Add a pair of stockings on a colder day for warmth. Wednesday Big meeting day? You can never go wrong with stripes and a tailored jacket. Add a pair of kne
