Top Five Best Dressed Academy Awards 2013

Hey guys! Since the Oscars were on last night, I thought that today would be the perfect day to do a Best Dressed list :) I am not going to do a worst dressed list, however, I will be detailing my top five dresses of the night in order from number 5 all the way up to number 1! Unfortunately, I fell asleep before the end of the show BUT I am so happy that Jennifer Lawrence won best actress!!! I am so happy for her!! Anyway, back onto the fashion..... 5.) Kerry  Washington- I loved this dress!! The color looked fabulous on her as well as the fit of the dress. I loved that she actually went for color since so many people take to black and neutrals on the red carpet. The glittery top was stunning followed by the little bow and the long skirt. The top half of this dress was really what stood out to me. I liked this immediately when I saw it. It was different in the best of ways and I think that it made Kerry look absolutely fabulous for a fabulous night. 4.) Nicole Kidman- This dress wa

The Prom Problem: Bras (Clean)

Bras for Prom. I have been asked about this so so so much in the past few weeks that I decided to use it as the topic for my first episode. Most Proms take place in the spring time or early summer. Therefore, it is generally hot outside and most girls buy strapless dresses or dresses with thin straps or halters. All of those interesting necklines are fabulous, however, they create the bra problem. A Strapless Solution:  Girls with larger breasts know that strapless bra's never stay up (I am one of those girls so if you are thinking "Oh thats me!"I absolutely feel yah). Recently I purchased the best strapless bra that I have ever owned and it would be the perfect solution to that strapless dress, so I thought that I would share it with you guys.  I ordered a black bra and a skin toned one. They come in a multitude of colors so you can pick the one that blends in with your dress the best. I do not have a dress yet for my prom but I needed these for dance so I went ahea

2-21-13 Project Runways Season 11 Review!!!

Whhhhoooo was this a fabulous episode!! This week featured on of my favorite singers and her fabulous style. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing more fabulous than mixing the edgy glam vibe of rock n' roll with the Hollywood glamour of country western. As Heidi said (I am pretty sure she was the judge who said this one...correct me if I am wrong) "it is the ultimate combination of hard and soft". This week Runway spiced up the scene by taking a new spin on the"Teams" approach. This week, the designers were paired off into teams of two where they had to create looks that went well with their partners. I was waiting for this approach! I think that the big teams allowed some of the designers to mascaraed under the success and assistance of their fellow designers. By pairing them up in two's, we really got a better glimpse of who the designers really are. As always, this review is totally my opinions and my not correspond with what the judges said. In add

New Series!!!! The Prom Problem

Hey guys!! Spring time is quickly approaching which, at least in my school, means that it is Junior Prom asking season! Of course that brings about a whole slew of problems for both the girls and the guys gearing up for the big event... as my guy friend put it "you have to figure out the who, what, where, when, why, and how". And yes, that can be a bit overwhelming. In this series, I am going to talk about all the different situations that arise with Prom, and about solutions to them. In addition, I am going to be filming some Prom hair and make up tutorials that I will be posting on my beauty channel FashionistaFoward5 (I will link it at the bottom of this post). I want this series to be as helpful as possible for you guys so if you are having any Prom dilemmas or if you just want a tips on a specific thing like say you bought a pink dress and you are looking for some complementary make up ideas, just comment below and I will brainstorm and do a post for you :) Also, I know

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my readers so m

2-14-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review!!

How appropriate that they arid the episode of the designers in the flower show on Valentines Day??? Planned? Who knows but still cute. Anyway, this week was my absolute favorite challenge, the unconventional one!! I love the unconventional challenges because they require the designers to be creative. Creativity is a necessity to be a good fashion  designer, so I always feel like this challenge separates the designers from the good seamstresses (if you know what I mean). This year there were a lot of high points. I do not feel like anyone had an outright disaster....well maybe there was one...but I think that for the most part they all made respectable dresses. The only thing that I have to say for this year's unconventional challenge was that there wasn't anything that was like a real "oh my god" for me. I feel like with the unconventional challenge, the opportunity to make something absolutely over the top that still looks wearable is given on a silver platter and th

Maybelline Baby Lips Review!!

Okayyyy so youu guys all know that I have a bit of a fetish with lip products. I tried to films a video for my beauty channel of a lip product collection and it ended up being literally 30 mins so I had to cut it down before uploading (If you haven't seen it I will link it below). In addition, in case you didn't know, I do have allergies to a lot of lip products but I like to try new ones anyway and I just hope for the best and then just don't use them again if I am allergic to them. I have seen so many beauty guru's rave about Baby Lips on YouTube and I had not tried them so I decided to give them a go. I went to Target today bright and early to check out the Prabal Gurung collection (If you want me to review that I can do that as well just leave me a comment and let me know) and I picked up the Peach Baby Lips. For starters, the packaging is adorable. I honestly love packageing. I don't know why but I am deff one of those people who is more likely to buy somethin

January 2013 Favorites!!!!!

Hey guys!! January has flown by so fast!! New Years feels literally like yesterday!!! But the end of January means that we are one step closer to Valentines Day and Spring. It also means that it is time for a favorites post!! So without further rambling...here are my favorites for January 2013. :) 1.) My first favorite of the month is my Maybelle Blush Brush. I have never actually used a blush brush before and I decided to give it a try and it is SO much better than the little brushes they come with. I got mine at target, and it was very affordable...so if you are looking for your first blush brush...this is a good one for you!! I'm not goina lie, I was not in love with it when I first started using it because the bristles are not soft and fluffy. However, it did get softer over time. What I like about it is that it is the perfect size for my face. Some brushes are so big that they end up putting the product in the wrong places on my face, but this brush is the perfect size and g

2-8-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review

Hey guys! I want to start out just by saying that I am so sorry about not having a review for last weeks episode. I was wrapping up exam week at school and just could not find the time to sit down and write a good review for you guys. But I made sure that I would have time to write an extra special one this week to make up for it. Right now there is about six inches snow outside my house and I am sure that a bunch of you guys are snowed in too so I hope that you all stay warm and safe this weekend! With that I just want to mention as always that this review will contain any spoilers so if you have not watched this weeks episode yet, don't worry. Also, if you have not seen this weeks runway deff head over to Lifetime's website and check it out!! And as always, these are my opinions, they do not necessarily correspond with what the judges said or thought about the looks this week. Okay now lets get on that review. Challenge: This week the designers had to design a dress for Heid
