Project Runway 11-5-15 Final Part 2 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: Edmond received the Tim Gunn save. All four designers returned to their hometowns and created their collections. Most of the designers received critiques from the judges. This week featured a twist where the designers had to add a look to their collection that they created on the spot in the workroom. This outfit did not have to be in their final collection showing if they did not like what they made.

Thoughts In The Workroom: I think it is a nice touch that Tim came into the backroom and gave them a pick-me-up and some advise after the touch critique. He also offered to go to Mood and purchase some extras for Kelly and Ashley. Go Tim! Kelly's confidence is really showing this week. Comment down below and let me know if you are going to be watching Project Runway Junior.

Challenge: Create a collection.

Guest Judge: Carrie Underwood

Kelly: (Second Place)
1. Kelly's first look was a chic, stunning white jumpsuit with a gold sparkling overlay crop top. Everything about this look was perfect. Once of the best in her collection for sure.
2. Her second look alternated sheer, tan mesh and sliver sequins trimmed with a dark brown textured fabric. This look was a short dress with long sleeves. She styled it with glittery headphones. This look was not my favorite of the collection.
3. The front of Kelly's third look was a plunge neckline out of a gold fabric with the same brown trim as the last look. On the back, she had a white patterned fabric. This was a sleeveless mini dress.
4. Her fourth look featured a perfectly tailored circle skirt made out of a white and silver shimmery pattern. The skirt had a solid silver waistband. On the top, she had a brown textured tank top, crop top.
5. The next look was one of the ones that she showed last week. This look was her off the shoulder, light wood fabric crop top with the tight, high waisted sequin shorts and a brown fanny pack.
6. Kelly's next look was another one that she featured last week. This was her blue sequin tank top with the white patterned flair pants.
7. Up next was another one of my favorite looks from Kelly's collection. This look was a form fitting, turtle neck, sleeveless dress made out of the "wood"fabric on the top, and a sheer panel on the bottom. The bottom moved beautifully on the runway. This look was styled with a fanny pack in the same "wood" pattern as the dress. Heidi also liked this outfit.
8. The next look was the final look that Kelly showed last week. This look was the tan trimmed mini-skirt with the blue triangle pattern on the front. The neckline appeared to be plunged, but with a closer look was actually high as she had a neutral toned mesh that blended in with the model's skin. This look was not my favorite. However, her next look was fabulous!
9.  This look was a long white skirt with a slit up to the thigh. On the top was a sequin plunge neck with a choker out of the same material. This dress had a silver waistband and it fit like a glove.
10. Kelly's last look was a killer jumpsuit. The top was a gold and white panel on the chest area. The rest of the outfit was out of the light sequin pattern shown throughout the collection. The pants had slits up the front which gave this look movement on the runway.
All of Kelly's looks were styled with shoes that she glittered. Several of the looks were also styled with glittered headphones or non-glittered sunglasses. Kelly really came into her own this season. Her confidence and attitude are infectious and I think she did a very good job with her final collection. The judges were proud of Kelly's collection and though that overall, she did a good job. Side note, I Kelly's brand name (Rackaddik) is awesome.

Edmond: (Third Place)
1. Edmond's first look was a form fitting, high neck black gown. The bottom flowed nicely and the neckline featured silver trimming. This outfit fit the model perfectly and was timeless.
2. The second look of the collection was a big grape. Edmond chose a shiny purple fabric and created a bubbly, teared, above the knee dress. One shoulder featured black crossed strapping. Unfortunately, the strapping did not look even. The look was not my favorite from Edmond.
3. The third look, Heidi loved. I thought that this look was very runway. This look was made out of a"wet" looking black fabric. One side was draped like a goddess, the other side was cinched in at the waist to show the model's figure. This skirt went to the ankle.
4. The next look in Edmond's collection was very sophisticated. He made a chic, black mini dress with one long sleeve. The other shoulder featured the same strapping as the purple dress. This dress would look good on so many girls.
5. Next up was another bubble dress. This dress featured a halter neckline. To give this look some depth, parts of the skirt were tacked up. This element gave it some originality, distinguishing it from ordinary bubble dresses.
6. The next dress in the collection was one of the looks that Edmond showed last week. This look was his girly, white gown with the black bow in the front. I really wanted to like this dress...and I did. However, the fact that the black trimming on the bottom did not line up with the end of the dress drove me crazy! With that said, I really enjoyed the girly vibe of this outfit.
7. This look again featured the strapping technique that Edmond incorporated into his collection. The strapping was from the neckline, to right above the bellybutton. The rest of the dress was again, classy and black. Edmond really showed his ability to make classy, figure flattering clothing.
8. Edmond's next look was a two-piece. The skirt was a white mini skirt, with black swirl detailing and a black waistband. The top was cropped, fully black, long sleeve, and ruffly. This look almost looked like a cropped jacket that buttoned in the middle.
9. The second to last look was an all white, all ruffle gown. I am all for ruffles, however, this look was not my favorite. I wish that he had made the train a bit shorter. It just felt a bit heavy.
10. Edmond's final dress featured the same ruffling as the last look, but in black. These ruffles were place down the side and as a train. The rest of the dress was black and fitted.
I think that it was very interesting that Edmond made a mostly black and white collection. I applaud him for not giving up until he finally got onto the show...and look how far he made it! Heidi thought that Edmond had some amazing "hits" and some not so good "misses". Edmond made some classy pieces that really showed his ability and strengths as a designer.

Ashley: (Winner)
1. Ashely's first look set the tone for her whole collection. It was one of the looks that she showed last week, and it was stunning. The top was a sheer, light pink lace fabric with three-quarter sleeves and an open back. Underneath she had a blue bandeau. On the bottom, the model wore a matching pink, fitted skirt. The skirt featured a high slit in the back. This model looked amazing. Ashley really has an excellent eye for what flatters a woman's figure.
2. Next up was a long blue dress. This dress was paneled; some solid panels and some sheer panels. The bottom of the skirt was sheer and moved wonderfully. This was one of my favorite looks out of Ashley's collection. This dress would have looked beautiful on so many different body shapes and sizes.
3. Ashley's third look was another one of the ones that she showed last week. This was the pink crop top that had fit issues [last week] and its matching, full skirt. Ashley was able to fix the fit issues for sure. This outfit was not bad, but it was not my favorite out of the whole collection.
4. However, her fourth look WAS one of my favorites of the whole collection! This outfit was a cap sleeve, loose, short, teal dress. First of all, the color was beautiful! This dress just looked so comfortable. I cannot imagine anyone wearing this dress and saying that pain is beauty.
5. The next look was a pastel pink romper. The shorts were high waisted and the top had a high neckline and was sleeveless. The outfit featured a cutout above the waistline.
6. Ashley created another two-piece for her next outfit. The top was cropped, in true Ashley aesthetic. It had a crossed halter neckline and was teal. The teal fabric that she used for this outfit appeared to be checkered. Ashley has a very nice eye for patterns. The skirt was a full skirt, that was mostly see through and had a ruffly trim. Once again, the proportions were spot on and the model looked amazing.
7. The next two looks in Ashley's collection were awesome. This one was a purple laceish (?) short with a matching three-quarter sleeve jacket. For a top, she created a teal tank and tucked it in. This look was spot on. Anyone could and would wear this outfit.
8. Another great look from Ashley was this innovative purple outfit. Underneath, the model was wearing a plum sleeveless, pant outfit. However, over the top, she was wearing an extra long purple button up blouse. This purple was a much lighter, almost magenta pink. I loved this look. I have never seen anything like this before and I thought that it really made her collection.
9. Next, Ashley showed the look that she created last week. This was the purple lace crop top and lace, wide leg pant. Carrie Underwood favored this look and stated that she would wear it herself.
10. Ashley's final look was classic Ashley. This look had a purple bandeau with a sweetheart neckline. The skirt was a long, full purple, satin skirt with flowers on the bottom. Ashley finished off the look with a sheer, purple cape that also had the flowers as a trim.
Ashely created custom, floral headpieces for each look. However, not every model walked in one. Ashley had the most cohesive collection this season. The judges loved her point of view, and loved that she took risks with her designs. People who wear plus sized clothing should look as amazing as people who do not. Any plus sized woman in Ashley's designs would look stunning. Everything that she stands for is so important, and you could tell that she put her heart into her collection.

Candice: (Fourth Place)
1. Candice's first look was the best one in her collection. I know that she felt that she had to eliminate the cherry blossom looks from the collection, but I thought that this print was stunning. Adding this look to the collection, although last second, really added a lot. This outfit had a high neck, was sleeveless, and was a below the knee dress with a flowy back. This look walked very well and was just beautiful.
2. The second look was for a totally different girl than the first look. This look was a bustier, black leather top with a low rise, red leather pant and a black belt. This was not a favorite in the collection. I wish the top had covered more of the model's stomach.
3. Candice's third look was a form fitting, black leather, right above the knee dress. Candice really took the judges advise on scaling back, but this look just needed a purse don't you think?
4. The next outfit featured a blue pant and a black leather tank top. The top had some detailing in the front and the model wore some very cute heels. Candice did a good job editing here.
5. Next up was one of the looks that Candice showed last week. This look was a leather bustier, with a tight black pant and a lace, over sized coat. The judges favored this look last week, and they enjoyed it again this week.
6. Candice created a skirt and top for her next look. The skirt was a black mesh with a red, sequin design. This skirt was to the knee. The top of this look was another one of her bustiers. Instead of being strapless feel like this top would have benefited from either straps, or off the shoulder sleeves.
7. One of Candice's pieces with the most movement was this black leather dress. Unlike the rest of her collection, this dress was not form fitting. I do not think that the girl in this dress would not have worn the previous outfit.
8. The next look was a red mermaid, leather gown. The clean styling on this model complemented the dress very well.
9. The second to last outfit was also a gown. This gown was a mermaid style silhouette as well. It featured black leather on the top, and a bright red fabric with black detailing on the bottom.
10. To round out the collection, Candice showed a tank top style gown with a cinched in waste. I thought that this was the best piece of Candice's collection. I know that it was scaled down from her original idea. However, the fabric really popped on the runway.
The judges felt that Candice's collection lacked some cohesion. However, they were happy that she took their advise and scaled it down. Candice is no doubt a talented designer and has shown her abilities time and time again this season. I do feel that she got a little down after the final critique last week. With that said, her voice still came through in her collection.

That is about it for this season's Project Runway Recap Reviews! Thank you so much for reading, it truly means a lot to me. Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who

The Prom Problem: Underwear (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem:  I talked about Bra's for Prom. All the special types that may be the best option for your dress. This Week: I thought that it would only be natural to talk about Underwear next. Underwear lines plague everyone at some point but prom is the last place that you want them to show up.Today we will be solving those nasty underwear lines.  I know that everyone has different opinions about sharing underwear secrets online because it is private I guess for some people, but honestly, I think that it is okay as long as your not doing anything inappropriate. I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines.

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my readers so m
