1-3-13 Project Runway All Stars Review!!!

Its that time of week again!!! And OH MY GODNESS WAS THIS A GOOD EPISODE!!!! It is going to be sooooo hard for me not to give away who won this week and who went home on Project Runway All Stars...but I dont want to have any spoilers so Ima try my best not to give anything away even though I reeeally want to. Anyway, before I keep talking about how much I loved this week I am going to go ahead and dive into my review.

Challenge: This week, each designer was paired up with a female veteran of the United States military. Each of the ladies has an event in mind where she was in need of the perfect outfit and did not need to sport the uniform.

Uli: When Uli came into this challenge, she was wearing a beautiful green printed dress that was very flowey. When Uli asked her client what style dress she wanted, she mentioned that she liked the green one that her designer was wearing. Thus, Uli embarked on making a dress like her own. I really would have liked to see Uli experiment with some color. Her girl mentioned that she liked purple, and okay maybe mood didnt have the print she was looking for, but she could have mixed prints maybe? I dont know. I would just really like for her to step out of her comfort zone at this point in the competition. With that said, her dress was STUNNING! It was sooooo pretty and the strapping in the back was ingenious. I actually disagree with the judges critique of the jeweling that she did in the cleavage area. I really liked it. A good pop of glam always makes an outfit more exciting in my opinion. What I also liked about this look, was that her client was very happy with the dress. I think that that was a key element to this challenge. Afterall, the designers were treating their well deserving clients to an outfit for a special event. The goal was to make them feel special and I think that Uli did successfully achieve that goal at this point. I think Uli needed to deliver this week in order to stay up to par with the boys and I deff think that she did. This was a really great week for Uli and I really think that she did a great job.

Anthony Ryan:Not a good week for Anthony Ryan.  This dress was NOT a good representation of him as a designer. Anthony has so much more ability than he showcased this week. His veteran asked to cover her curves, especially her boobs because she was insecure about her body. The fabric he chose was pretty. His client said she liked strapless, okay, on bigger busted girls, strapless is not the way to go if you want to take the attention off of your chest. As a girl with larger boobs, I totally understand not wanting to make them look any bigger than they already are. There is nothing worse than putting a black belt on a busty girl. It cuts the body very sharply and makes the boobs the center focus of the ensemble. Also, busty girls do not belong in dresses with a big, wide, white, strap straight across the chest. That also highlights the area. For the bodice of the dress, I would have liked to have seen Anthony Ryan's client in a structured, straighter dress rather than a flowy one. He could have still gone conservative for her and at the same time, flattered her figure a bit more. For example; I think that his client would have looked fabulous in Uli's dress from last week without the belt. Anthony had a very pretty client and is a true All Star and I just feel like he could have done a lot more with her.

Emilo: Yellow again??? The straps in the back bulged where they met the bodice, and they were uneven. The top and bottom somehow looked like the colors were different but they really were the same. Maybe he used the wrong side of the fabric?? In addition, the whole think looked a bit frayed and homemade. Emilo is a couture designer. One of his trademarks is that everything is always well made. For him to fall short in his best category at this point in the competition is strange. The dress just didnt fit right. It was too tight and too loose in the wrong spots. I do agree with the judges that he was on the right track with the design of the dress and that it was just poorly executed. I was genuinely surprised with his dress this week because usually I like his fancy dresses. I guess it is forgivable though because throughout the competition, Emilo has proven himself many times over and we all know that he is a great designer and deserves to be this far into the competition. Everyone makes mistakes and this is deff one of his, but like I said, I dont think that this dress really represents who he is as a designer. If he made it in the competition (and if you dont know the answer to that, you should go watch the episode at http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/project-runway-all-stars ) an Emilo spectacular dress is deff over due.

Joshua: This week was a very emotional week for Joshua and the challenge really hit home with him. Josh's brother is in the army serving in Afghanistan and his client was also a veteran of the army. In addition, his client had suffered a blood clot and almost died from it while she was in the service. Luckily she survived, however, she needed to have part of her leg amputated and she now has a service dog. She is very comfortable with her prosthetic leg and did not have any problem showing it. I think that is so admirable that she is confident about her prosthetic leg and that she is still the happy person she seems to be. She mentioned that she liked leopard print which Joshua is also a big fan of. Josh's dress for her was ADORABLE!! The shirt was a black v-neck top with the leopard pattern on the back (when he held it up originally, it looked like a peplam top but it didnt show that way on the runway so I am not sure if they tucked it in or he changed it up a bit). There was a little strip of the leopard in between the top and the skirt and then he finished off the look with a knee-length black skirt. At the bottom of the skirt, he has a mesh looking layer followed with a little trimming of the leopard print. The leopard print was originally black and white and he died it a dark green. In addition, he made a matching little outfit for her service dog. The dress looked stunning on his client and she loved it!!  I personally think that this was the best outfit. Not only was it cute and age appropriate, but his client loved it and seemed to appreciate it the most of all. The goal of this challenge was to make something that the client would like and still pop in some of your own style. Joshua deff achieved this and really hit the nail on the head with this one....and good thing he did too because he really needed to pull out the stops at this point in the competition.

That is just about it for my Project Runway All Stars review of the week!! Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

The Prom Problem: Underwear (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem:  I talked about Bra's for Prom. All the special types that may be the best option for your dress. This Week: I thought that it would only be natural to talk about Underwear next. Underwear lines plague everyone at some point but prom is the last place that you want them to show up.Today we will be solving those nasty underwear lines.  I know that everyone has different opinions about sharing underwear secrets online because it is private I guess for some people, but honestly, I think that it is okay as long as your not doing anything inappropriate. I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines. ...

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my re...
