Ahhhhh it's so hard not to spoil this week's episode!!! But I won't. I promise,
This week, the four designers competed for their spot in the Project Runway All Stars Season 3 Finale. All the designers did a great job this week and the judges really did not dislike any of them. The semi-final closed out with a familiar twist seen in last season's semi-final. Guest judges for this week included Nick Cannon, the creator of Milly, and Christen Chenowith. Personally I loved seeing Nick Cannon on the judges panel. I thought he was so funny!
Challenge: Create a look under $400 put of Milly's prints to be sold as part of her collection.
Seth Aaron: Seth Aaron left everything on the runway this week. They asked for cute with an edge and that he delivered. Seth Aaron was deff in his comfort zone this week and it was really obvious that he was inspired by this challenge. His dress featured a white circle skirt with black and white polkadot trim. The top half of the dress was black and white horizontal stripes with a low cut rimed with a pink trim. This look was impeccably made and absolutely stunning. I think any girl would want to wear this dress! He really proved himself this week and I am SO glad! I have always been a Seth Aaron fan and I would love to see him walk away from this season successful.
Korto: ehhhh didn't love it. Korto made a racer back and a belt out of one fabric and a front and skirt out of another print but it was all one dress. I did like the print she used on the back and I agree with the judges that the cut of the back was hot. However, the droopy front and clashing pattern seemed sub-par for this point of the competition to me. I am glad that she was confident in her look but personally, I think she should have stuck with one pattern and one design. It almost looked like two dresses meshed together into one. And I think her idea was original and good, I just wish that it was either all of the front or all of the back if that makes sense.
Elina: Usually, Elina does not disappoint. However, I am going to disagree with the judges on this one. Elina used her signature silhouette and made a Strong white dress with yellow undertones in some spots and a silver zipper down the front. First thing first was that the zipper did not lay flat on the model. Honestly, I did not mind the zipper detail like the judges did. I did mind that it was waAaAaAvy. I also was not fond of the yellow undertone. I loved the idea but I wish she had done it in a different color. From this side of the TV, the yellow areas looked dirty instead of cool. Any other bright color probably wouldn't have had this effect. Not Elina's best going into the final in my opinion but I do think she is an amazing designer who has really shined this season and deserves it all.
Christopher: Christopher seemed to be a little lost with the price thing this week but hey that's alright because his dress still came. Out stunning. Christopher's outfits are usually the most wearable and this week was no exception. I do not think the judges were correct in questioning who he is as a designer. Christopher's ascetic is classy and pretty and personally I think he depicted that clearly this season. That aside, let's talk about what he made this week. Christopher made a right black leather dress with a white manner on the top and a black and white tribal printed skirt that detached partly to allow the zipper to zip. The dress was really an eye catcher and was stunning. The only critique I have for it was that the top part of the dress looked a bit more wavy than it should have. Other than that,
I think he did a great job.
Twist Time.
Last year, the two designers in jeopardy had 1 hour to remake their dress in hopes to make it into the final. This year, the two designers in jeopardy re mastered old looks to make a look in 1 hour right there on the runway.
Korto: Korto took the pants from her men's wear challenge and made them into a skirt. Can I say genius? Her top was dark grey and draped with a belt. The outfit looked very runwayie and deff showed off her skills.
Christopher: Christopher re-used his evening wear dress and made a mini skirt. His top was a Verne color with a chain detail. The judges were questioning Christopher's designer identity and he certainly showed them who he is in the dress. It was classy and pretty.
Who. Made the cut?? Your goina have to go watch the episode to find out.
