Get Fit For Summer: The Best Dieting/Fitness APPS For Your Phone!

Hey guys! Today's post is all about my top 3 dieting/fitness apps! I have an iPhone so I know for sure you can get all of these on there, I am not sure about other phone types, but I would think you can still get them or something similar. These apps cover everything from actually working out to counting calories. Most of these apps are free and I really do think they are helpful in getting fit for summer. I am not sponsored by any of these apps or companies. I just think that they are great and wanted to share them with you all.

My Fitness Pal:
This is probably one of the more common ones, but it is also one of the best ones in my opinion. My Fitness Pal allows you to track your calories, fats, carbs, etc watch day. It also allows you to log your workouts so you can see how many calories you have burned and how much you can eat for the day. What I love about this app is that it is customizable. You can set your calorie goal based on your own height and weight. You can also set your weight goal and log each time you step on the scale during your fitness journey so that you can keep a running journal of your  progress and see how much more you have to go before you reach your goal. My Fitness Pal is not just for weightless. It can also be used for weight gain and maintenance. One of its best features in my opinion is the food log. The database of foods is amazing. There are very few foods that this app does not cover. This is helpful, not just for your log, but if you are watching what you eat, and you are not sure what is in something, you can just look it up in the app and it will most likely tell you what your eating. I always find that I see better results with my fitness journey when I use this app every day then when I don't. I would absolutely recommend this app to anyone who is looking to get in shape for the summer.

Nike+ Training Club:
This app is more fitness related than food related. Basically what this app is is a database of different workouts done by professional athletes and trainers designed to help you get fit. This app has different intensity workouts so if you are a beginner, don't worry, you can totally use this app! Actually, I would recommend it to a beginner because you will have so much room to grow and it will give you a direction for your workouts if you have never followed a workout schedule before. That is not to say that if you are not a beginner, your can't still get benefits from this app. Like i said, there are different levels of this app so you can benefit from it no matter what your level of experience. This app is great because you can do the workouts at home or in the gym. Some of them do require weights, but there are pliantly of workouts that do not. In addition, you can always opt to do the weight workouts without weights. You will still get the benefit of moving your body. I think this app is great to kick start a workout routine. The hardest part about working out is getting started and getting into a routine. This app will help with that.  As you accomplish the goals in the workouts, you earn rewards and get tips on being healthy. I think that this is great motivation. Even if you are not getting an Olympic medal, a simple digital badge will signal to your brain to feel proud of yourself which will motivate you to keep going.

C25K Free:
This app is perfect if you want to try out a 5K. Running is not every one's favorite, but it is a great full body workout. If you are just starting out, a 5k is a great goal to set for yourself because it means that you are able to run 3.1 miles. If you accomplish this goal, you have certainly made a lot of progress and I guarantee will be in much better shape then you were when you began your journey. What I love about this app is that it builds up your endurance slowly. This is so important. Getting a bit sore is okay because it means that your muscles are repairing themselves and growing. However, getting too sore or injuring yourself is not good and will set you back. This app paces you so that injury is less likely to happen. Again, this is a great app for beginners because it designs the workout routine for you. The app also allows you to play your own music while you workout which is obi an extra bonus.

If you try out any of these, let me know what you think.
xoxo

Best Fit: How to Start Your Fitness Journey

"Best Fit" Let's start our fitness journey! Incorporating fitness into your daily life is difficult. Life is full of wonderful things to do and it can be hard to prioritize being healthy. Today we are going to jump right in and start incorporating fitness into our daily lives.  *Disclaimer: I am neither a fitness expert nor a doctor. I am here to build a community, not give professional advise. Before beginning your fitness journey, check with your medical professionals to make sure you are physically healthy enough to complete any activities suggested. 1. Pick a time of day for your workout: Picking a time of day is a great first step in starting a healthier lifestyle. Putting it on your calendar (maybe even setting up a reminder notice) will help you hold yourself accountable. It will also remind you that you have set aside time that day to go to the gym so you do not double book yourself.  Personally, I prefer to work out in the late afternoon/ea

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who
