The Prom Problem: My Prom Dress/Hair/Makeup

Previously on the Prom Problem: I talked about dress trends for this prom season.

Coming Up: Today I will be telling you guys about a few prom problems that I am having plus taking about all my beauty stuff for my prom!

Hey guys!! SOOOOO I do not know when your proms are but mine is in 5 days!!! AHHHH!! I am so excited!! Over the weekend, I did a little makeup shopping and I am actually having a bit of a problem with that so I decided to start with it and I want you guys to let me know what you think I should wear. My dress is orange lace and usually, I wear gray and black eyeshadow but that is a no opriton because I will look like Halloween. My mom thinks that I should wear blues but I do not think that they go well with orange. I debated purple but was not in love with that either. My eyes are really dark brown, like almost black brown and natural colors do not really look good on me. I bought the new Revlon 530 Bohemian eyeshadow pack and I think that the colors match but I do not know how I want to use them yet. It comes with a shimmery peach, brown, light blue, gold and a gold sparkle. I feel like it is almost too shimmery but idk. Let me know what you guys think. I am also going to have to use base coats so that it shows up better. For my lips, I know that I am deff wearing the Revlon Lip Butter in 025 Peach Parfit!! I just tried out these lip products for the first time and am IN LOVE with them!! I have 3 so far and will do a review of them in a seperate post because I love them so much!! (And I know that there is a new collection out there which I am dying to try!!)
My hair is another dilemma right now. I want to have loose curls. Now, idk if you guys know this or not but I have VERY curly hair naturally. However, it does not hold a curl very well from a curling iron. My friend suggested using the instyler but it straightened my hair more than it curled it. Sometimes I can get it to stay really good with my Conair 2 inch curling iron, but I am afraid that it will fall out since it is not 100% reliable. Hot rollers always curl my hair but they make bouncy curls...so....I am thinking of using them and then pulling them apart. Let me know if you think that will work. I really do not want to spend the money on getting my hair done because I feel like I can do it just as good from home.
For my nails, I am also doing them at home. I have been growing them out so they look good from Friday! Right now I am wearing a new color from Lorial's spring line and it is a coraly peach color. But for prom, I am going to borrow my mom's beige color by Sally Hansen as it matches my dress and then am applying the Lorial nail strips over the top. The strips have a gold design and a clear base so it will give my nails some design and act as a top coat.
My dresssss I LOVE and it is by Dalia McPhee!! Like I said, it is orange lace with a nude undertone. It has a sweetheart neck line and a slit that goes all the way up. I love the slit because it makes a long dress a bit more wearable for a short girl like myself. The waistline is high looking but it hits me perfectly which is weird because I am low waisted....anyway....it is currently at the dress maker (I used the same person who altered my Bat Mitzvah dress. If you need alterations on your dress, I would suggest looking up someone in the phone book.) as it was too long and it is strapless and was falling down. I have a larger chest and a small rib cage so things tend to fall down and she takes them in for me. I am getting it back the day before prom which I am a bit nervous about but she did the same alteration on my Bat Mitzvah dress and it fit like a glove so I think that it should be okay.
My shoes are Jessica Simpson and they are literally 5 inch heals. I am also a little nervous about tripping in them but they are actually the most comfortable pair of heels that I have ever owned! They are my first Jessica Simpson item which I am really excited about because I love her. My shoes strap on and are the same skin tone as the dress.
I am going to insert a picture of my dress for you guys to seeee. And I am using the picture of it from the website that I ordered it from because the only picture I have of me in it right now it is dragging on the floor and stuff cuz it had not been altered yet...but you can get the jist of it beloww!!!

I hope you are all having good luck prepairing for Prom and as always, feel free to leave your prom experiences and comments or requests below!!  I will be sure to have a few more goodies in this series before prom season is over (even if my prom has already passed) since I know that some are not until May or June.

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

Project Runway 10-22-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers created a look inspired by the bridges of New York incorporating 3-D printed detailing. Challenge: The designers were flown to LA where the city served as their inspiration for a red carpet look. Thoughts In The Workroom: L.A has a Mood puppy! So cute. Ashley's fabric is very pretty. Edmond's fabric is gorgeous as well. Edmond No! Don't shorten! I hope Kelly's pants fit... Guest Judge: Christian Siriano Ashely: Boobs! Ashley picked a beautiful gold sequin fabric. However, the dress was not my favorite this week. Ashley's dress was floor length with a-symmetrical sleeves. On one arm, she had a long sleeve. The other arm, she had a spaghetti strap. The chest had a huge cut out between the sleeves that plunged down to her waist. The neckline was not flattering in my opinion. The judges were split on this look. Some of them thought that fabric was dated while others liked it. Heidi actually liked the very open c...

Project Runway 10-26-15 Final Part 1 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers created a Red Carpet look. Thoughts in the Workroom: I knew Edmond would get the save!! Edmond really did deserve it. Not coming in prepaired must put on so much pressure. Candice's red and white pants are SO cute! Wait, Ashley what is that stain remover stuff? I need that. Challenge: The designers will show the judges three looks from their collection for feedback. One of those looks would be created from scratch, in the workroom . Guest Judge: No one this week. Home Visits From Tim : Ashley: Tim visited Ashley's hometown where she revealed her Mexican heritage. Ashley is creating a plus sized collection. I think that it is awesome that she is going for it. There is such a need for quality, fashionable, plus-sized clothing. Ashley's mother supported her vision stating the importance of Ashley's vision. Tim praised Ashley for her innovation with her floral headpieces, however, he warned her that the judges may cal...
