Hot For Summer: Work Out APPS For Your Phone!

Priviously on Hot For Summer: I talked about a great YouTube channel to get your work out on.
Coming Up: I am goina talk about the best workout and health apps for an IPhone!

Hey guys! I just want to start off by saying that I am SO sorry for not updating for a while but it's the end of the year and I am drowning in school work! But I'm almost done and I miss you guys! So let's get started with today's post!!

Nike Training Club:
This App has some really great benefits and one little down side. But I'm in a good mode so lets start off with the positive. Basically the way it works is you get a certain amount of credit for each workout and you get prizes when you reach certain numbers of hours working out. Some of the workouts are with celebrities and these are my favorites because I think it is a bit eaiser to work out when you are familiar with the model. One of the celebrity work outs is Shawn Johnson's stretch guide. This is one that I think everyone should unlock. Stretching is a key part of excersize as it prevents injury. As a contortionist and a dancer, I do a lot of stretching. I thought thy Shawn's guide was great because all levels of flexibility can do it and get something out of it. It really covers all aspects of the body well. It's a great warm up and cool down! As far as the actual sweating work puts are conserned, I like them because if you do not know how to do an excersize, there is a video that explains it. It also counts down the time as you do each excersize which helps pass the time if you are not a fan of working out. The downside to me is that some excersize a require weights that I do not own. Of course you can go buy the weights if you are a bit more dedicated than I am or you can do the excersize a without them, you just won't get as much of a work out as it intends. Overall, I really like this app and constantly find myself coming back to it when I need a good calorie burner.

Foodculate:
Part of dieting and getting that sexy summer body is excersizing, and part of it is eating well. This app is free and it scans the bar codes of food and then grades hope healthy the item is like A B C D F. I LOVE this app!! There are a tone of foods out there that claim to be healthy that just are not. This app is great because it gives you a concrete perspective on whether or not the food is healthy. I t does not require you to understand the label which I think is great because today's world does a great job of marketing things as better than they really are. This app cuts through the marketing so that you know that you are making heathly choices. All the hours at the gym I the world will not make a difference if yo do not eat right. I reccomend this app to absolutely everyone, especially if you are just moving out of your parents house and have to figure out what to stock your fridge with on you own without your parents.

Couch To 5K:
Ok this app is a bit more specific than the others. Basically what it does is it takes you on a two week path to running a 5k. It can be done on a treadmill or outside and it lets you use your own music which is great!!  I like this app because it slowly makes the runs longer and harder so that you build
Endurance before going straight into a 3 mile run! The only problem with this app to me is that there is not a build in stretching guide. You need to stretch before hand because if you don't you will be so sore after and it does not Guide you so that's a minus for me. I know this app is not for everyone. However, I run a 5K every year and I love this app because it helps me get in shape for it so I don't die on the big day! (I'm no track star of you can't tell haha)

My Fitness Plan/Calore Count:
This app is essential for anyone trying to get hot for summer! It has a section where you can keep a food diary and an excersize diary so you know exactly how you are doing on your diet. It is also works as a social network so you can see how other people are doing on their dots and get inspired to keep going on yours! It helps to see exactly what you are eating because when you see yourself hitting your calorie limit, you think twice before taking one more cookie. I think this app is necessary because it helps keep you on track. Another great feature is that you can record your weight daily and see the graph go down which will inspire you to keep going!

And that is it for this episode of Hot for Summer! Check back soon for another episode!
Xoxoxo

Best Fit: How to Start Your Fitness Journey

"Best Fit" Let's start our fitness journey! Incorporating fitness into your daily life is difficult. Life is full of wonderful things to do and it can be hard to prioritize being healthy. Today we are going to jump right in and start incorporating fitness into our daily lives.  *Disclaimer: I am neither a fitness expert nor a doctor. Before beginning your fitness journey, check with your medical professionals to make sure you are physically healthy enough to complete any activities suggested. 1. Pick a time of day for your workout: Picking a time of day is a great first step in starting a healthier lifestyle. Putting it on your calendar (maybe even setting up a reminder notice) will help you hold yourself accountable. It will also remind you that you have set aside time that day to go to the gym so you do not double book yourself.  Personally, I prefer to work out in the late afternoon/ea

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who
