Hot For Summer: Finding the Right Beach Wear

Previously on Hot For Summer: I talked about workout apps for your phone!
Coming Up: I am going to take about finding the perfect beach outfit!

Hey guys!! So I just want to apologize for being away for so long but I had finals and training for work but I am back now and cant wait to get back on this series!! During the summer months, it seems like everyone is always stressing about their beach bodies. Bikini's are great if you have the body for them...but if you don't...that does not necessiarly mean that you are overweight and you can still look great on the beach without wearing them. Today I am going to talk about a few different kinds of bathing suites that may be the solution for you.

The Classic Bikini:
Okay lets just get this one out of the way. We all know what it looks like. Usually, it has triangle cups with a small piece in the middle and a halter tied top and the bottoms that are shaped like undies. This bathing suite is perfect for someone with a small chest. HOWEVER, it is not a good solution for a more busty individual. Personally, I can not wear these kinds of bikini's because they are just waiting for me to fall out of them. If you are the same way, it is okay. There are plenty of other bathing suites that you can wear...you can even wear a bikini!

Bikini's for Boobs:
Okay this is my category! I have found that the best kind of bikini's for the more busty individual is the kind that have circular cups with under wire. This style of top gives the support that the classic bikini does not. The bottoms usually look the same but we are talking tops right now sooo lets get back to it. My favorite bathing suite that I own is a blue and white polka dot Betsy Johnson that is in this style. It is great because I do not have to worry about sagging or falling out of my top but I can still wear a bikini. Betsy Johnson's suites are a little high in the price department but they are great for larger boobs. Another tip, if you have a larger chest, it is better to invest in two or three good quality, good support, expensive bathing suites then to  have 10 cheap suites that do not do your body justice. Large boobs is a good thing if you know what to do with them.

Bandeau Bikini's:
This type of bathing suite, again, I would recommend for smaller chested people. Usually, I find that they stay up better on a flatter chest then they do on a larger chest. These bathing suites re great for tanning because you do not get strap lines. However, they are terrible for swimming. If you are planning on hitting the pool, do not wear this kind of suite. You are asking for a wardrobe malfunction if you do....and no one wants their top to fall off!! These are especially bad for going off the diving board because the water pressure just rolls them right down. So if you are contemplating one of these, I would recommend it to a smaller chested person and just be careful where you wear it.

The Cheeky Style:
Thong bathing suites are out there. If you are comfortable enough with your body to wear one...then go ahead. The only warning I am going to give here is that they are often seen as a bit taboo so if you are going to show off the lower half, be ready for what others have to say about it. Also, these bikini's also tend to come with skimpy tops so you may be better off mixing a thong bottom with another regular top or the thong top with a regular bottom. I recommend this because it is usually better to only show off your assets on the upper half or the lower half. Its like...don't be a cheap date...you have to leave some mystery!

The Old Style:
High Wasted Bathing Suites. These are really a matter of taste. Personally, I think that they are really cute and I would absolutely buy one. If you have never seen one before, basically, it is a bikini top with high wasted bottoms that show a little sliver of skin instead of your whole stomach. If you are self-conscious about showing your stomach but still want to wear a bikini...this is the perfect solution for you. I have seen ones that come with the classic bikini top as well as ones that come with a more supportive top so if you want one...it really does not matter what size your boobs are; you can find one that is flattering and holds you in. My only warnig with this kind of bathing suite is if you want to get a full body tan, this is not a good option because it covers up most of the stomach.

Tankini:
Tankinis are perfect for tweens. Between ages 10 and 13, kids start to want to wear two piece bathing suites. Honestly, is it the end of the world if they wear a bikini? No. But a tankini is more appropriate for this age. Tweens are going through puberty and they have yet to get use to the ins and outs of having boobs. Therefore, it is better that they have a more supportive top so that if they dive into the pool, they don't have any issues. A tankini is like a tank top out of bathing suite material. This top has more material (obvi) than a bikini so it is better for an active tween with a changing body. Also, it covers the stomach and leaves a tiny sliver of skin at the bottom so it is appropriate for kids of this age. The bottom to a tankini looks like the classic bikini bottom so you don't have to worry about cheekiness for kids this age either.

Stomach Sliver:
This is a great solution if you are a bit overweight or self conscious but still want to show a bit of skin or get a great tan. This type of bathing suite is a bikini top and bottom connected with a little bit of material that goes straight down the middle. This strip covers up a bit of overweightness and is slimming at the same time. Another great use for this is at camp. If you work at a camp and are required to wear a one piece but do not want to, this is a great way to stay covered up but not be all at the same time without breaking any rules. I got one for camp at TJ Max and it was not too expensive so that is a plus!

The One Piece:
One Pieces are great for aging bodies or for people who are very active. If you are training for a swim meet, this is the perfect suite for you as it will aid in your speed in the watter. One Pieces are very form fitting and very strong suites so they are great for activity as you can trust that everything is staying in when you wear one. If you attend a swim club in hopes to loose weight, this is also a great option. You do not have to show off you stomach and you can get the speed in the water to help burn calories. One Pieces are also fabulous if you are older and feel self conscious about showing off your body. Although the one piece is usually considered the "cover up" suite, they can be very well styled and really cute so if you see on that you like...no shame in buying it if you have nothing to cover up. Some body types even looked better in them! Personally, I look better in one because I am short and the two pieces cut me off and make me look even shorter but a one piece does not. If you want to rock the one piece go for it!

And that concludes this episode of Hot For Summer. Check back for another episode soon!!

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines. ...
