Project Runway 9-19-13 Review!

Hey guys!! This week was a high packed drama filled episode!! Now, I am going to start out by addressing the drama. Basically what happened was that the boys all moved into one room and when Alexander went into the new room, Ken was blocking the door with his iron and was not moving. They then got into a fight after Alexander pushed Ken and his ironing out of the way. Ken's behavior then spiraled out of control and resulted in him sending a string of profanity towards the Project Runway crew. First of all, I think that both Ken and Alexander were responsible for the situation. It was wrong for Ken not to move so that Alexander could come in, and it was wrong for Alexander to throw the iron. THE IRON! Of all people, a fashion designer knows that an iron is hot and can seriously injure someone!! How in the world he fathomed that throwing it would be a good idea, I will never understand. To that end, exploding to the point where others are scared is not a responsible option either. Ken, you are an adult. If you have issues, work them out with a therapist..do not take them out on other people. The whole situation was just BAD and resulted in Ken moving into a separate room for his duration on the show.
Now that we have dived into the drama, lets take a look at the important stuff...the fashion! I loved this challenge and so wish I was old enough to participate!! I think that it was a great way to honor the fans as well as put a twist on the "real women" challenge. I always love when the designers have to design for "real women" because it requires more talent and shows the marketability of their aesthetics. This challenge is usually separates the hot designers from the not so hot ones.

Challenge: To design a dress for a Project Runway super fan!

Alexander: Alexander attempted to make a suite for his costumer. His super fan wanted something professional, and while his idea was good... the execution was lacking. Alexander's top was gray, sleeveless and low cut with a black scalloped peplum. While I liked where he was taking this shirt, it lacked construction. I also feel like this look was missing a blazer. That top would have looked much better under a jacket. The skirt that he chose was a matching gray pencil skirt. I am sure that he was off of his game after the big fight but this is a competition and the show must go on!

Helen: Helen's super fan had the most amazing transformation! The professionals at Lorial really did a fabulous job with her! Helen's black gown was also stunning!! It was probably one of the best outfits this week! She made an ankle length gown with a sweet heart neckline and a teared detail in the hip area. This dress was just gorgeous and very flattering to her fan! You could also tell that her fan loved it which is the most important aspect! I think that she really provided her fan with a quality outfit to take away from the show...and as a super fan...it can't get any better!

Brandon: Brandon also had a very good look this week! He gave his fan his signature in a dress! Basically, he made a fluffy skirted black dress with three quarter sleeves with his signature embroidered in by the sewing machine. Personally, I think that this dress was flattering on his girl and it was brilliant! I really think that he did a great job this week! He has really come back since being eliminated. Tim made a good call by saving him!

Ken: Remember Slime Time Live on Nickelodeon??? That was the color of Ken's dress. That is all I will say about the color. The neckline was not finished and while the idea of the front was not bad, it did not carry over to the back. He used black on top of the green to make a geometric pattern on the top but not on the back. It just looked a bit awkward. I think that he could also have done a bit of a better job with making a flattering dress for his costumer. I know that he was off his game this week too, but then again, he is the guy who kept telling everyone else to get it together. Actions speak just as loud as you loud works buddy.

Kate: I loved Kate's look this week as well! She has really surprised me this season. Kate made her super fan an army green top with lace shoulders and a brown belt. The pants were tight to contrast the looser top. I thought that this outfit was very on trend and that any women would want to wear it! The detailing with the lace was all finished and it looked like she really put a lot of effort into this dress. In addition, she achieved the goal of the challenge by having a happy super fan! Another great week for Kate!

Dom: Dom's dress was interesting. However, it kind of looked like like last week's try two. I don't know whats up with her. She started off this competition very strong. However, I feel like as it's been winding down the past few weeks, she is almost getting intimidated. Or she is running out of ideas. Whatever the case  may be, I hope she kicks it back into high gear for next week because she is talented and deserves a spot in the final in my opinion.

Alexandria: Alexandria's model also had an amazing transformation! Her new look is stunning! It reminded me of Kelly Pickler! Anyway, the dress she made for her was flattering to her body. She made a low cut LBD. I think that although the dress looked great on her girl, it was a bit safe. I am surprised that Alexander has made it this far in the competition and I think that she needs to turn up the volume a bit if she wants to stay.

Justin: Justin's fan was a Mormon so he was careful to adhere to the dress code of her religion. I love that he respected that aspect of her. He made a three quarter sleeve black shirt and a brownish printed skirt. Although his costumer was happy, I thought that this outfit was lacking a bit in the taste department. I don't think that it was horrible, but it could have been better.

And that is a wrap for this week! Head on over to lifetime.com to check out the episode if you have yet to see it! And check back next week for another spoiler free review!!
xoxo

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who
