Homecoming Horribles: Makeup

Previously on Homecoming Horribles: I talked about dresses to wear, and not to wear.

Hey guys!! Today I am going to talk about a few makeup options for homecoming as well as some products that I am loving! I also just want to start off by saying that Homecoming does not mean break out the Halloween makeup. You can wear a lot of makeup or do a smokey eye without wearing bright, overdone colors. With that said, let's get into the option and products!!

Standard Smokey Eye:
This is always my go-to option for Homecoming. Because you are using blacks and whites, it should match just about any dress. The trick to this look, is to put white on the lid with black on the outer corner and work it into the crease. This looks very easy to over due. Therefore, I think that it is very important to invest in a good blending brush! The one I use is by Sonia Kashuk. Personally, I think that this brand is just as good as the high end brands for brushes. I buy all of my brushes from that brand because they are great but they are also not that expensive. My blending brush cost about $10 which I think is pretty good for a makeup brush.

Brown Smokey Eye:
If you are worried about looking like the wicked witch with the standard smokey eye, you can always opt for a brown one. Brown smokey eyes are just as good as the standard one because they match just about everything. Personally, I like to use matte shadows for this look. My favorite shadow duo for this look is by Este Laughter! I got it a few years ago so I am not positive if they still sell it. However, it is basically a tan matte snacks and a chocolate brown matte color.  To deepen this look, I like to use a black liquid liner on my upper lash line because  I just think that black liner is an essential for any smokey look.

Pink and Purple:
If your dress matches pink or purple and you want to add a pop of color to your makeup look, you should try out this look. I love to take the cover girl pink quad and use the lightest color on the lid, the second lightest on the outer corner and the second darkest in the crease.  This look, if well blended, is just absolutely stunning without being too much and will turn heads on the dance floor.

Products to try in these looks:
1.  Liquid Black Liner
2. Cover Girl Pink Eye Shadow Quad
3. Sonia Kasuhk Brushes
4. Este Laughter  nude and brown duo

I hope that these three looks give you some ideas for homecoming! If you want to see a video tutorial, let me know in the comments below. And if you have any other makeup looks that you are loving for Homecoming, comment them too!!
Xoxo

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

Project Runway 10-26-15 Final Part 1 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers created a Red Carpet look. Thoughts in the Workroom: I knew Edmond would get the save!! Edmond really did deserve it. Not coming in prepaired must put on so much pressure. Candice's red and white pants are SO cute! Wait, Ashley what is that stain remover stuff? I need that. Challenge: The designers will show the judges three looks from their collection for feedback. One of those looks would be created from scratch, in the workroom . Guest Judge: No one this week. Home Visits From Tim : Ashley: Tim visited Ashley's hometown where she revealed her Mexican heritage. Ashley is creating a plus sized collection. I think that it is awesome that she is going for it. There is such a need for quality, fashionable, plus-sized clothing. Ashley's mother supported her vision stating the importance of Ashley's vision. Tim praised Ashley for her innovation with her floral headpieces, however, he warned her that the judges may cal...

Project Runway 10-22-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers created a look inspired by the bridges of New York incorporating 3-D printed detailing. Challenge: The designers were flown to LA where the city served as their inspiration for a red carpet look. Thoughts In The Workroom: L.A has a Mood puppy! So cute. Ashley's fabric is very pretty. Edmond's fabric is gorgeous as well. Edmond No! Don't shorten! I hope Kelly's pants fit... Guest Judge: Christian Siriano Ashely: Boobs! Ashley picked a beautiful gold sequin fabric. However, the dress was not my favorite this week. Ashley's dress was floor length with a-symmetrical sleeves. On one arm, she had a long sleeve. The other arm, she had a spaghetti strap. The chest had a huge cut out between the sleeves that plunged down to her waist. The neckline was not flattering in my opinion. The judges were split on this look. Some of them thought that fabric was dated while others liked it. Heidi actually liked the very open c...
