Previously on Curly Hair Care: The series was introduced!
Hey Guys!! Everyone's hair care starts with a little shampoo and conditioner. Whether you shower at night or in the morning, shampoo and conditioner are always the first products to hit your hair before styling. For girls with curly hair, the right shampoo can really make a difference in frizz control. Today I am going to talk about some shampoos and conditioners that I have found to be perfect for taming the wild beast.
Recommended Shampoo:
Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo for Curly, Dry and Unmanageable Hair.
This shampoo comes in a green bottle and the product is like a light green transparent color. The bottle sizes range from the normal to the huge ones with the pump. This product is my holy grail shampoo for curly hair. Personally, I had tried many shampoos that were designed to tame frizz but this is the only one that I noticed made even the slightest bit of difference. Reality is, the right shampoo alone is not going to tame frizz. However, it is a very good place to start. This shampoo feels light in the hair and does not leave any residue or sticky feeling after showering. In addition, it is not heavily scented. Some people may prefer a more odorous shampoo however, you must keep in mind that the chemicals used to make those flavors may not be the best for taming frizz. This shampoo contains several natural ingredients such as Aragon Oil which I find to really help fight frizz. Although I do recommend using a conditioner in conjunction with the product, you could just lather up with this shampoo and be good for the day. This product is a drug store product and it is also available at local food stores and target so it is not that expensive and easy to locate. I will provide an online ordering option at the end of this post.
Recommended Conditioner:
This should not come as much of a suprise but the Garnier Fructis Fortifying Conditioner for Curly, Dry and Unmanagable Hair is most deff the conditioner I recommend to you. This product comes in a green opaque bottle and the actual product is white. It leaves the hair feeling so soft and it really helps keep the grid down in the morning. This works wonders in conjunction with the shampoo I just talked about and again, it is decently priced at target or your local food or drug store.
Shampoo and Conditioner I would. NOT Use:
The packaging of shampoo and conditioner usually state what kind of hair they are meant for. My biggest caution is not to purchase a shampoo for wavy hair if you have curu and Unmanagable hair. The stuff they put in it is different and it will not do as good of a job as a specific shampoo for your hair type. I know that that is kind of obvious but it's super easy to just go to the store and pick out a shampoo of a familiar brand and not look to closely at the label. Also, I know that many people think that in order to control their curly hair they need expensive shampoo and conditioner from that salon. Honestly, you do not. If you want to purchase the expansive stuff and it works for you and you can that's great but if you can't afford it, you are not doomed. The Garnier line of hair products is honestly so amazing that you really do not need to spend the money. After all, the more expensive Dosent have to mean the better.
Okay that wraps it up for this post. Now that spring is here and school is warping up I have so much more time to come back and blog and I am so much more inspired to do so so stay tuned for a new post very soon!
