Middle School Advise: Middle School Fashion

Hey Guys! For today's post, I am going to be talking about fashion in Middle School. After all, this wouldn't be a complete fashion blog mini series without talking about fashion. Obviously, I am no longer in Middle School and do not know all of the in trends for that age group, however, I do know what is and is not age appropriate. The first thing I really want to put out there, and honestly, if this is the only thing you take away from this post, that is okay; DRESSING LIKE A SLUT IS NOT COOL.

Crop Tops:

Fashion is a way to express yourself. One of the things that it expresses is how much you love and respect yourself. I know this is a bit deep but I feel like it is the only way to address fashion in Middle School. A lot of girls and boys find themselves dressing in slutty cloths or having their pants at their ankles as they walk through the educational hallways. Why do they do this? Because they want to be accepted and they think that showing off their assets will help them bet approval of their peers. What they are looking for is not really the approval of their peers, but the approval of themselves. Children who feel the need to wear a top showing off their stomach to class are trying to prove that they are good enough. This derives from the belief that they are not good enough as they are. This insecurity leads to students seeking the approval of others so they can feel better about a self that they otherwise do not love. You should never find yourself in a situation where you feel the need to dress provocatively to improve your self esteem. You will end up getting negative attention which will only make yourself feel worse. You are perfect just they way you are. You are perfect in appropriate clothing. You have imperfections that you wish you could cover up. But you are perfect because you wear them proud. You are perfect because you have aspects about yourself that are truly perfect and that make you feel confident. You are perfect because you are you and you should never feel like you are not good enough. I know that is easier said than done. SO, here is my suggestion. If you are someone who is inclined to dress slutty or walk around with pants at your knees, you do not need to do that. Pick a style and purchase some pieces that fit into that style. By sticking to a style, you can dress appropriately and express yourself. People will always respect you for your unique style. You will find yourself setting trends and bringing confidence to yourself. You do not need to fall into the trap of trashy, you can bring classy to the table and get the respect of your peer and therefore, get accepted.
Love yourself
xoxo

Is The Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment Worth the Hype?

Hey Fashionista's! Today we are going to talk all about Hailey Bieber's Rhode Skincare line. This is not sponsored, I just really wanted to talk about these products. This semester in my public speaking class, I taught a unit all about persuasive speaking. My goal was to make the topic of persuasive speaking more relatable by showing how prevalent it is in our modern world. What was the product I brought in to show the power of persuasive speaking in the "influencer era"? You bet it was the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment. If you are a longtime reader, you know I rarely talk about skin care. Actually, I have probably never talked about skin care. That's because I don't really know what to say. I don't ever buy the trendy products because I am allergic to so many of them and if not, they make me break out. BUT Hailey Bieber got me- talk about effective persuasive speaking. I watched a few videos on YouTube of her using the products and talking about their ing...

June Favorites!!

Hey guys!! Another fabulous month has passed and what a month it has been! June was very stressful for me but also the biggest relif because it was the end of school and training for the day camp that I worked at. So I have a good amount of favorites for the month of June so I am going to go on and get into it. 1.) My  first favorite of the month is my Maybeleen concealer stick. I decided to stray from my Almay holy grail concealer and try out a more full coverage concealer because I was not getting a whole lot of sleep due to school so I had lovely dark circles. I have been using this product every day and kind of have a love hate relationship with it but decided to include it. Lets start with the pros. I love that it makes my undereyes glow and wakes me up a bit. I also love the coverage that it gives. NO dark circles will be seen when you use this product. I also really like the texture because it is really creamy and easy to apply. Now for the cons. I am pretty tan and so I b...
