Project Runway Season 13 Final Part 1 Re-Cap Review

Its the final!!! Hey guys!! So an exciting season of Runway it has been!! I am pretty happy with the designers chosen for the runway. The designers were treated to a trip to Rome to inspire their collections. They also got the opportunity to purchase some lux fabric from a fabric store in Rome. The final is always so much fun because you get to see all of the designers in their element, at home and just really turning up the notch and showing off their best. This week, the designers had to pick three pieces from their collection to show to the judges. There were no eliminations, just opinions.

Amanda: I am going to start with Amanda because I think that she has just been the Queen of redemption this season. I honestly did not realize how good of a designer she was after the first season. She has really come into her own this season and I am really happy that she got a second chance at the Runway. Amanda designed a statement collection of gold jewelry and I believe I saw an evil eye! This jewelry was absolutely stunning. Seriously, she could make a whole career selling that stuff on its own. If I had endless money, I would purchase every single piece. She showcased her final gown which featured a bright blue and some more muted browns and grays in patchwork. Honestly, this outfit was one of the best of the night. It was stunning. She also featured a second maxi dress which the judges did not care fore. Personally, I was not a big fan of this dress either. It was well made but the plunge neck line was just not for me for this collection. The final outfit she made was separates that were very well fitting and very innovative. I think that there is a huge chance that Amanda could be the winner this season. A job well done.

Sean: I am very happy that Sean went with his fringe. Who makes fringe like that? The orange color that he chose was absolutely stunning and looked amazing on the runway. Sean was inspired by Rome and directly infused his collection with the historical story. I feel like he is the only designer who really is telling a story through his collection this season. I personally think that telling a story is the best way to go when presenting a collection. It brings just so much more to the looks and gives it another element of sophistication. I loved that he took his signature piece that Heidi wore on the red carpet and transformed it into a skirt. He also made a Grecian white gown with an orange fringe strip in the back. This dress was stunning. I don't know who wouldn't want to wear this on the carpet. The fabric just looked so stunning and luxurious and expensive and it was a perfect gown to send down the runway. His third look also looked fabulous on the runway.  I know that Nina thinks he is a bit of a one trick pony and yeah he might be repeating, but I really do think that it works in this instance as more of a signature than a single trick.

Char: I struggle with this one. I think that Char is an outstanding persona and has been thrown to the roller coaster a bit this season. Her ability to remain strong is certainly a positive testament to her character. And I honestly admire her for it. With that said, I did feel like she was using Tim as a crutch a bit. Yes, he saved her and believed in her. But she really needed to take the reigns on herself this final and go for it on her own. The rest of the designers were not relying on Tim, obviously she has a different bond with him, but as far as the competition goes, she should not have either. I was not the biggest fan of the outfit she made out of the look from Rome. I felt like it needed a solid black belt or just some solid black somewhere to make it a bit less busy. I loved the high waisted skirt that she made but I was not a fan of the top. The skirt looked like a great take on business, but the top looked trashy. I just do not think that the same girl would wear that top and that bottom. I did really enjoy her black and white striped zipper dress. I think that it is very cute and very wearable. With that said, I feel like the girl she created is not one person. The teen who would wear the stripped dress would not wear the business looking pencil skirt.

Kini: I don't even know where to begin. I really do think that Kini deserves the win because he has consistently been the best, most innovative designer this season. With that said, how can someone win when what they are currently being judged on is not very good. I did really like the trench coat. I wish there was a bit of color to it but overall, I thought that the piece was strong...the judges however, did not agree with me on that one. His skirt with the binging and the white top was not attractive at all. I don't know who wants to look like a sausage. I was actually surprised by this look from him. I was really expecting a lot more.  I also felt like the clothing looked a bit labored and that is not him. Kini is a fabulous designer who finishes everything and it just looked a bit processed instead of sheik. I also think that the collection would benefit from a bit of color. Yes, the denim is great and it was most certainly the right decision to stick to it, but I feel like he could have benefited from one colored denim, or at least one lighter wash. The judges asked him to pretty much redo the whole thing. I am confident that he will pull through, but I feel so bad that he has to because he really is one of the best designers this show has ever had.

Alright, we will have to tune into next week to see the full  collections and find out who is the winner! Check back right after next weeks show for my re-cap review!

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who
