Project Runway Season 4 Final Recap-Review

Hey Guys! Another season of All Stars has come to an end. I am finally caught up, but if you are not, maybe this post can help you out. This week's final challenge was for the remaining designers to create a 8 piece collection representing the four seasons in four days. During the regular season of Project Runway, the designers get four months to make their final collection. Needless to say, the word "challenge" was an understatement. But the designers gave it their all and rose to the occasion. Zac Posen joined the judging panel for this final challenge. This review WILL contain spoilers as it was the last episode, so if you do not want to see any, stop reading, watch the episode and come back later. Lets get into the review, because there is just so much to cover.

Helen: I want to start with Helen because I really think that she has come into her own this season. Helen's final collection really represented her as a designer. This was the most wearable collection to me, and I think that is what Helen usually aims for. Her opening look was a white circular lace cap sleeve top with a high waister black circular lace skirt. The neck line featured a black tie as well. This was one of my favorite pieces sent down the runway the entire night, if not my favorite. Tones and tones of girls would wear this dress and I would absolutely be one of them. It looks expensive, polished and just overall very cute and well done. The judges liked this look a lot. The next look of Helen's that I want to mention was a black lace, long sleeve top with a high waisted skirt peaking out the bottom. Again, very marketable and I would totally wear this in a heartbeat. This look was innovative as it was a bit of a twist on the average skirt and shirt and I just thought it was very fresh and again, very wearable. The judges were not fond of Helen's two winter looks which. The first look she made was a black jump-suite with a blue jacket. Personally, I love the sparkly blue jacket. I thought it was very unique and well made. The judges thought that the look was heavy, but from this side of the TV, I really did not get that impression. The judges also thought her final look was heavy. She made a floor length red dress with a floor length grey cape. I love her capes and think that they are very unique and very fashion forward. Overall, I thought that Helen did an outstanding job. She really represented herself well, held her own, and showed the world that she is a very talented designer and that she was in the business to stay. Bravo, and I still want to wear those lace outfits.

Sonjia: I have to say, I was half expecting Sonjia to win this season. I think she has done an outstanding job throughout and some of my favorite pieces have come from her. With that said, I was slightly under impressed with her final collection. Most of it was very well done, but I just thought it needed a little something more. Sonjia's personal style is always on point and I literally want to own everything she personally has worn on the show. I wish a bit more of that came through in her collection. Her final winter look was most possibly one of the most innovative of the night. She made a yellow, metallic floor length winter coat which was just stunning and runway ready. Underneath she had a blue top and tight red pants. I thought that this outfit was deff the stand out of the night because she had that wow factor in the jacket. I can see tones of people wanting to own this outfit, and it looked fabulous on the runway. I also really liked her printed jump suit. I thought that this piece was also very wearable and very fashion forward. Sonjia did a great job with cohesion and her story. Modern Egyptian deff came through, especially when you saw all of the outfits next to each other. The one outfit in the collection I questioned was her first look. This look was a caged blue crop top with a banana yellow skirt. I have to say, I really liked the top and would wear it anyway. The judges criticized this skirt. The skirt was mini and opaque, the it went to below the knee sheet and then went into a flouncy part but was not floor length. the judges thought there was too much going on.Overall, I still think Sonjia did an amazing job. She justified her place as an all star, she really represented herself all season, she stood up for her esthetic and she showed her strength in every challenge.

Dmitry: Okay lets talk about the winner. Dmitry is a hard worker. He never fails and is meticulous about his work. I think the most astounding thing about him is that he makes these outfits in such a short period of time and they really do look finished like you could wear them the next day. In four days, having a finished collection is just remarkable. Regardless of whether or not you liked his collection, you have to respect Dmitry's passion for design and how far he has come. He really attests to the fact that hard work pays off and that you should always give 100%. He came here to win and win he did. I really did enjoy his final collection. My favorite piece was a blue and white long sleeve dress. This was a mid length dress with one sleeve fringed and little patches of fringes thought one side of the dress. I would wear this dress, absolutely. I think it was very unique and I have never seen anything like it before. Bringing new ideas to the table is key aspect to winning, extra bonus if they are amazing. The judges were very fond of the (as they called it) the weed dress. I have to say, I get what they were talking about. But honestly, it was still something new and it was SO well made. This dress just fit perfect and looked so polished and really made a statement on the runway. One of other favorite looks of his was his opening look. Dmitry send out a black, one shoulder long sleeve shirt with a high cut out in the front and long in the back. To go  along with it was a white, high waisted pant. I thought that the styling on this look was spot on. I could see hundreds of young women feeling so confident in this look. His pink flow dress with the black lacing was my least favorite of his looks just because it seemed a bit simple compared to the rest, but the judges still liked it. Overall, Dmitry did an outstanding job on this last challenge an throughout the competition. He was deff a front runner, and he really showed up for every challenge. He gave it his all, in true Dmitry form and he came away with a well deserving win. I really do think that Dmitry had the potential to be the next big name designer and I hope to see him in stores soon.

Thats a wrap for this season! Check back for more fashion this spring and  full season of reviews this summer for Project Runway!

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

The Prom Problem: Underwear (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem:  I talked about Bra's for Prom. All the special types that may be the best option for your dress. This Week: I thought that it would only be natural to talk about Underwear next. Underwear lines plague everyone at some point but prom is the last place that you want them to show up.Today we will be solving those nasty underwear lines.  I know that everyone has different opinions about sharing underwear secrets online because it is private I guess for some people, but honestly, I think that it is okay as long as your not doing anything inappropriate. I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines. ...

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my re...
