Getting Ready For Graduation

Hey guys! Today's post is going to be all about graduation. I know some college graduations have already happened, but if you have not, and your gearing up, this post is for you.

Graduation Outfit:
To be honest, you can never totally be ready for graduation, so lets start with the simple stuff. Your Graduation Outfit! Graduations are usually in the summer. At my High School, we had a dress code for graduation, so obviously, if you have one your gonna have to adhere to it. Honestly though, my dress code was totally reasonable I think. Below is a picture of the dress I wore to graduate. Now, you do not have to wear a dress unless you are required to, but I highly recommend it. Those graduation gowns are hot, and a nice dress underneath will keep you from overheating. I recommend a short dress for the heat reason, but if your gown is long enough, you could wear high low or an ankle length. I still wouldn't recommend a maxi dress because it would stick out from under the gown and you really don't want your dress dragging on the ground and possibly being something to trip over. If you really are not a dress girl, a nice romper would do the trick. I know not everyone is girly and likes dresses. If that is you, I would absolutely take the romper route. You will still be just as cool under the gown, and you will still be comfortable. In addition, there are some supper cute rompers out there right now that are just as nice as dresses. I would not recommend wearing a tank and shorts under your gown. In my experience, that was against the dress code. But if it is not, I still would not recommend it. Most likely you are going to have a get together with your family after or before and you want to look a bit nicer than just a regular school day. Also, graduation is a nice event. It is not formal like the prom, but you still want to be dressed nicer than your everyday self.

Graduation Shoes:
This is most certainly the most important part of getting ready for graduation as far as fashion is concerned. I know that the outfit is usually the most important for an event, but not here. You do NOT want to trip and face plant onto the stage to get your diploma. I would not recommend purchasing heels for that reason. You can go with wide based wedges if you really do not want to wear flat shoes. The platform has more surface area to distribute your weight than a regular heel, so you are less likely to trip up the steps. However, I still recommend flat shoes. There are so many nice flats and sandals out there that go perfectly with a sun dress or romper. By wearing flats, you will 99% insure that you will not trip up the steps to get your diploma.

Hair and Makeup:
Honestly, wear whatever you want and are comfortable in. But just keep in mind that people will be taking pictures, so you might want to go a bit heavier than normal with the makeup so it shows up on camera well.

Pre-Graduation and Post- Graduation:
Pre-graduation, is more often the time to spend with friends. Before you graduate might be the last time you see your high school or college friends for a while. Enjoy these last moments together because you really might not see them for a while. Graduation is bitter sweet, you are accomplishing something so big, yet your life is changing so much. Make your last hours with your friends count and take your pictures. Usually people spend post-graduation celebrating with their families. Post- Graduation is the time to celebrate with everyone who came to support you, so have fun!

If you graduated this weekend, or are graduating in the next month or so, congratulations! I hope you have an amazing graduation day!
xoxo

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

The Prom Problem: Underwear (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem:  I talked about Bra's for Prom. All the special types that may be the best option for your dress. This Week: I thought that it would only be natural to talk about Underwear next. Underwear lines plague everyone at some point but prom is the last place that you want them to show up.Today we will be solving those nasty underwear lines.  I know that everyone has different opinions about sharing underwear secrets online because it is private I guess for some people, but honestly, I think that it is okay as long as your not doing anything inappropriate. I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines. ...

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my re...
