The Prom Problem: How To Apply Fake Eyelashes

Previously on The Prom Problem: Seven Deadly Sins Of Prom

Hey Guys! Today, I decided to do a how to post all about falsies. I put it in the Prom Series since I know a lot of girls like to wear false eyelashes for Prom.

*Secret: Practice makes perfect. False lashes are not the easiest to apply, so it might take a few tries to get it right. Buy an extra pair or two and practice putting them on ahead of time. *

Purchasing the Perfect False Lashes:
There are a tone of false lash brands out there. Honestly, you can get whatever pair you would like, but I would recommend the Ardell 110's. The goal of false lashes is not to look like you are wearing them. Falsies should slightly lengthen and volumes your lashes. They should look natural. The first step in achieving this look is buying a pair that are more or less the same length as your regular lashes.

Glue:
I personally like the Duo Glue brand. When it comes to lash glue, a little goes a long way, so you do not need a full sized tube if you do not want one. I like the white glue because you can see exactly how much you are squeezing out and how much you have on your lashes.

Eyeliner First:
The hardest part of applying false lashes is getting them in the exact right spot so that no one knows that they are even there. The sweet spot is exactly along your lash line right where your real lashes start. To help you get those falsies in the right place, lightly line your lash line very close to the lashes with a pencil or crayon liner. I find it best to use a black liner, since most false lashes are black. When the glue dries, you will have your original line under the line created with the lashes and it will look just like you applied a normal line of liquid or gel liner.

Applying the Glue:
When you peal off lashes from their packaging, they feel tacky. This will not be enough stick to last through the whole night. Lightly squeeze the glue tube until you see a tiny bit of glue peeking out the top of the tube. That is how little you need. Run glue along the edge of the lashes. When you are finished, a thin line of white should be atop of the black line base. This line should not be running or "falling over" so to speak. If it is, you have used too much glue.

Let It Dry:
Let the glue get tacky for a few seconds before you apply the lash. This will help it last loner.

Applying the Lash:
Start in the outer corner. You want to place the outer corner first so you make sure that the lash ends where you want it to. By ensuring that it ends with your natural lashes, you will ensure that you do not have too much lash in the inner corner. Too much inner corner lash is uncomfortable because your lashes are not naturally thick or long there. Use the black liner line you have created to guide where the lash is supposed to go. I like to place the lash down with my fingers and then pinch it together with my real lash to get it into the perfect spot. Continue gently sticking down the false last and pinching it gently with your regular lash until you have gotten the whole think on your guider line.

Mascara:
When the glue has completely dried, curl both your fake and real lashes. You want to do this ever so gently as to not pull off the fake lash. You want to avoid curling your natural lashes before your false lashes, or it will make it ten times harder to apply your false lash because your real one will be in the way. Once the lashes are curled, apply a generous coat of massacre to both the fake and real lashes at one time. Doing this will blend the two together and make it look like they are all 100% real.

*Secret: Throw your tube of lash glue in your purse just in case your lashes should start to lift away during the big night. *

I hope this helps anyone using false lashes for the first time for Prom. Stay tuned for more very soon!
xoxo

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers wh...

Special Post- Inner Beauty- The NJ Sharing Network

Hey guys! I have always intended for this blog to be totally dedicated to beauty and fashion, however, this post is going to be a bit different. Well, I mean, it does kind of fit because all the beauty on the outside does not matter if you are not a beautiful person on the inside (which I am sure that all of you are). Recently, my little sister (Linda) had a kidney transplant. She received her new kidney from an organization called the NJ Sharing Network. The NJ Sharing Network is an organization which connects donor families with recipients. I wanted to help give back to the organization that gave my little sister so much...so I created a team for their annual 5K run. My team is called Linda's Home Team. Last year, my team raised around $3000 dollars for the NJ Sharing Network. This year, we are hoping to surpass that. It would mean the world to me if you guys would follow the link below to my page and give a donation to my team. Every penny counts. I love all of my re...
