Freshman Declassified: What Not To Pack For College

Previously on Freshman Declassified: I just introduced the series!

Hey guys! So as promised, I am back to do another college related post. This post is going to be all about what you do NOT need to take with you to college. I know it can be tempting to take literally everything you own, but trust me, you do not need it all taking up space. Here is a list of five dorm dust collectors that you should not take with you. *Disclaimer, this is through my experience. Something on this list might really seem like an essential to you. If it is, then please take it with you! This is nothing absolute!*

1. High Heels---> Especially if you are going to a big school. Any college involves a lot of walking. The bigger the school, the more the walking. I honestly never put on a pair of heels. When I needed dressy shoes, I always opted for fancy flats instead. Heels are just not practical when you have to walk a long distance to your destination.

2. Gold Jewelry--> Yes it is most likely safe in your dorm, but that does not stop it from falling off. This is not high school where you can retrace your steps and find your lost earring. If you have gold jewelry, or jewelry that is expensive or sentimental, wear it when you are at home. Don't risk loosing it at school. There is plenty of costume jewelry that looks amazing that you will not feel as bad about loosing.

3. Smoothie Makers/Choppers/Fancy Cooking Devices--> You just realistically will not have enough time most nights to break out a machine and make food. On the nights you do have extra time, you will probably want to go out with your friends. Save the space, it is worth it.

4. Excess Spa Night Products--> Again, it is just not practical to fit in a weekly spa night at school. Honestly, it is not really even practical to fit in a monthly spa night. If you want to bring a face mask or two, go for it, but you will never use the whole at home spa kit.

5. Back-Up Make-Up Products--> If you are like me, and you love make-up, you might have a lot of it and it is very hard to part with the whole collection when you go off to school. When I went away to school, I tried to pear it down as much as possible and I really did not thing I took very much. Realistically, I used about half of what I brought. Make sure you have everything you use on a daily basis, but honestly, you do not need the big collection and variety and back-ups. There just is not enough room for the one day you decide to switch up your concealer.

Next I will be posting about essential to take with you to college. Hope this helps, and happy packing!

Best Fit: How to Start Your Fitness Journey

"Best Fit" Let's start our fitness journey! Incorporating fitness into your daily life is difficult. Life is full of wonderful things to do and it can be hard to prioritize being healthy. Today we are going to jump right in and start incorporating fitness into our daily lives.  *Disclaimer: I am neither a fitness expert nor a doctor. I am here to build a community, not give professional advise. Before beginning your fitness journey, check with your medical professionals to make sure you are physically healthy enough to complete any activities suggested. 1. Pick a time of day for your workout: Picking a time of day is a great first step in starting a healthier lifestyle. Putting it on your calendar (maybe even setting up a reminder notice) will help you hold yourself accountable. It will also remind you that you have set aside time that day to go to the gym so you do not double book yourself.  Personally, I prefer to work out in the late afternoon/ea

Project Runway 10-15-15 Recap Review

Previously on Project Runway: The designers gave members of the Project Runway crew a makeover. Hey guys! Welcome to this week's Project Runway Recap Review! We are getting closer and closer to fashion week each episode and the competition is getting tight. At this point, any of the designers could go home. Last week was packed with drama...but...its a new week, and a fresh slate, so lets get started. Challenge: The five remaining designers will make an outfit inspired by the New York City bridges (Queensborough, Brooklyn, Manhattan). The designers were assigned a bridge from the black bag of doom. Each designer created a textile with a 3-D printer that they had to incorporate into their garment. This is an Avant Garde challenge. Thoughts In The Workroom:  I'm not so sure what I think about 3-D printers...comment down below and let me know what you think about them (in general, not just in fashion). Candice made a good choice not using black again this week. Designers who
