The Prom Problem: Dresses

Previously on The Prom Problem: I talked about shape wear, stockings and men's underwear. My theme was pretty much that there is no shame in making yourself look and feel good. Oh and also guys....pull up your pants. This week on The Prom Problem: We will be talking about DRESSES!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOO YAY LETS TALK DRESSES!!! Guys, this is my favorite part about Prom!!! And I promised you that I would share my prom details....soooo..... I got my dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is all orange lace with a champagne undertone and it has a slit that goes all the way up and it is strapless and floor length!!! I was looking at dresses online at Nordstrom and I saw this one and fell absolutely in love!! The measurements of it in my size were exactly me and it fit like a glove...it was almost too easy. Of course it needs a bit of alterations, I mean, any long dress on me would need an alteration haha But honestly, it made the whole thing real. I am SO excited for prom now!!! I also got my date so...

3-28-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review!!!

Hey Guys!!! Okay, first I just want to say thank you to you guys because I reached over 1000 views today which I was not ever expecting and think is absolutely crazy!!! I just wanted to say thanks for tuning in and supporting me!! I love you all <33333 Now, onto this week's Project Runway Review!! This week's teams were pairs of two and as promised, I will be taking a look at what each designer did. Like usual, this post will not contain any spoilers and may or may not correspond with what the judges said as these are all my own opinions. Challenge: This week was the HP and Intel Fabric design challenge. The designers were taken to an art meusame for inspiration. They had to make on practical look and one run-way aven garde, wearable art look. Pairs: 1.) Richard and Patricia 2.)Daniel and Layanna 3.) Michelle and Stanley Layanna: I am starting with Layanna because I was really disappointed with her this week. She has put out some fabulous stuff this season, but this ...

Neutrogena Powder Foundation Review!!

Hey guys!! Over the past year, I have been using Lancome's peach blush as a foundation powder as it matched my skin tone. However, I recently ran out of it. I really do not like to use liquid foundation unless I absolutely have too because it never fail clogs my pours so I prefer not to use it. With that said, I still like to even out my skin tone. A few days ago I combed through the face products in the food store and decided to go with Neutrogena's mineral sheers powder foundation. This product is designed to be used after wet foundation in order to mattify and set it. That is not exactly how I have been using it....but I really like the product!! I have pretty oilly skin so I like the mattifying quality. It really takes the edge off of the  shine from my oilly skin. This product is oil free so if you have oilly skin like me, it a good potion for you. I like to use this product all over my face by itself. I do not put any liquid foundation on under it and it gives me light t...

How To Conquer The Smokey Eye

Hey guys!!! I know that a lot of people have trouble getting down the perfect sexy smokey eye...so today I am going to give you guys a few little tips that may help you perfect the look. If you find this post helpful and/or want  to see a full smokey eye tutorial, leave a comment below and let me know. If that is something that interests you guys, I can do a tutorial on my YouTube channel. The smokey eye is one of my favorite looks because it matches everything. It is basically just gray, black and white so most of the time you don't have to worry about it clashing with your outfit. The smokey eye can be done in several different degrees of intensity depending on where you are going. Personally, I like to wear it as an every day look instead of neutrals. Of course, for school my smokey eye is lighter than for nights out with my friends. Today I am going to talk about tricks for every day and for a night on the town...so lets get into it! Every Day: 1.) Use shimmery colors. If y...

3-22-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review!!

Hey guys!! Runway has certainly been going fast this season!! It seems like it just started! Anyway, this week  they were in teams of two and one team of three. It was a pretty successful week as far as the garments on the runway are concerned. There really were no major disasters!! As always, this post will not contain any spoilers and these are all my own opinions so they may not correspond with the judges. With that said, lets get on into it! Challenge: To make a ready to wear outfit inspired by the Lord and Taylor flower Layanna, Richard and Samantha: This was an interesting trio. I have got to say, the girls are very strong this season. So I am going to start out with them. Layanna's dress was by far my favorite this challenge!! She made a floral flowy dress with a halter neckline made out of leather and cinched in the waist with leather. I love the silhouette of this dress and deff think that a million different body types would look good in ...

The Prom Problem: Shape Wear, Stockings and Mens Undergarments (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem: I talked about underwear and gave a few different options on how to avoid underwear lines on the big day. Today, I am going to be talking about a few different things. All of them are equally important, but they all kind of go together so I decided to do them in one collective post. Since I do have allot to talk about, I am not going to give any more of an intro soooo...lets get started. 1.) Shape-Wear: Ladies and Gents, there is no shame in wearing shape wear. Nobody is Barbie or Ken. If you think that you will look better in your dress or suite if you wear shape wear...DO IT!! There is not screaner at the door to patt you down and announces whether or not you are wearing shape wear. There are a million different items that you can wear to inhance your body and make you look fabulous. I am sure that you are all fabulous already, but why not make yourself feel amazing?? I know that someone will have something to say about this...but I do not for the ...

3-14-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review!!

Hey guys! I am so sorry that I did not get my review done for last week's episode!! I did watch it but I was snowed in with homework and couldn't get it done :(  But I am back now and am so glad to be back because I honestly love writing this series!!Since I did not review last week, I am just gonna give a few quick thoughts on the episode. I LOVED the challenge!!!! I thought that most of the dresses came out nice and absolutely agreed with the winner and who went home. The challenge made me look forward to Prom and honestly made me want to make a duct tape dress.....Anyway, on to this week's episode we goooo!! As per usual, I will not reveal any spoilers in this blog and these are my opinions, they do not necessarily correspond with the opinions of the judges. Challenge: To create a men's-wear rip away outfit for incredibly built dancers. This week, the teams were of four and they all worked on different pieces in three looks. I am going t...

The Prom Problem: Underwear (Clean)

Previously on the Prom Problem:  I talked about Bra's for Prom. All the special types that may be the best option for your dress. This Week: I thought that it would only be natural to talk about Underwear next. Underwear lines plague everyone at some point but prom is the last place that you want them to show up.Today we will be solving those nasty underwear lines.  I know that everyone has different opinions about sharing underwear secrets online because it is private I guess for some people, but honestly, I think that it is okay as long as your not doing anything inappropriate. I am just saying this to let you guys know that this post is totally clean so if your thinking "oh my gosh what is she going to show us?" Don't worry about it...you can keep reading. On that note, lets take a look at a few solutions to The Underwear Problem. Solution 1: Thongs I am going to talk about thongs first because I think that they are the most common solution for panty lines. ...

Announcement!!!

Hey guys!! So as many of you know, I have a YouTube channel (I will link it at the end of this post) that kind of goes along with this blog for everything fashion and beauty that is better represented through visual media. I am also in an Advanced Broadcast class which includes TV. I have the opportunity to make a free- form video for my class which means that I am going to have access to much better editing equipment than I have at home. I was given permission to post my video on YouTube after it airs on my school's TV station (which I am SO excited about). I am really glad that I am going to get the opportunity to use the good equipment for this channel and I want it to be a special video for you guys, so comment below and tell me what kind of video you want me to do. It can be a tutorial, a haul, a DIY, seriously anything just let me know. I do not know exactly when I will be uploading it to YouTube obviously because I have not even filmed it but I will deff let you guys know wh...

February Favorites!!

Feb flew by so fast!! Having a five day presidents break really made this usually drab month go by. I have gotten to try out a bunch of new products this month and I liked them all, so I am just going to get right into my favorites to save this from becoming a novel. 1.) My first favorite of the month is they Almay makeup remover cue tips. I saw beautybaby44 talking about these on YouTube and when I saw them in the store... I had to give them a try. I always have a hard time getting all of the eyeliner and mascara off of my bottom lashes and these really helped me do so. They are also great for correcting mistakes, or, I don't know if this happens to anyone else but I am a righty and sometimes I get mascara on my nose when I do my left eye....so these remover cue tips come in handy then so I do not have to use up  a whole make up wipe for one little mistake. I bought mine at Target but I am sure that you can purchase them at the drug store as well. 2.) Next up on the favorites l...

2-28-13 Project Runway Season 11 Review!!!

So sorry I am a bit later than usual with this!! I try to do my reviews as close to Thursday night after the episode as possible but sometimes things get a bit away from me. Anyway, before we get into the review, I wanted to talk ambiguously about who got eliminated this week. This is a no-spoiler blog so of course I will not mention the designer's name, however, I do not believe that this designer should have been eliminated. In my mind, there was one individual who's time on the show should have been up last week, yet they survived. I think that the designer who was eliminated has a ton of talent and potential and really did not have sufficient time on the show to display the depth of their ability. I wish this person the best of luck in their career, and think that the show will miss them. Okay, now onto the review. Challenge: To create a dress of older women that represents the designer and is what the women want. The designers were in the same duo's as last week with...
